Time to move to the Michigan's Upper Peninsula where none of those things will happen to you. Don't forget to buy some long johns and a really big snow shovel. If that don't appeal to you, I'll trade my home in Pennsyltucky for yours in gatorland.:D I'am going to move down in a few years anyway, so speeding up the process is fine with me.

    Hey,

Are you a true native or did you transplant here. Where abouts in Fl are you?
Don't tell me you are worried about this big rainstorm called Faye coming. I lived here all of my life, hell I'm even going to work tomorrow. :D

screw that..i think I will deal with a little snow and freezing temperatures, than to have my house drenched inside and out, and than 2 seconds later blown to smitherines..you got my respect.

  10. You could move to the Pacific northwest. Seattle/Tacoma area average temp is 47 degrees, except for 2weeks in summer it hits 50! And you dont have to shovel rain!:D

If you'd populate that field on your profile that says 'location', we wouldn't have to guess where you live.

    Good luck with the storm.

  14. I work for the School Board, we get a snow day tomorrow! Even though it looks like it'll just rain for a few hours.

Guess if I call it a "snow day", you've guessed I'm a transplant... I'm going to go get me a pop now...

Watched a big "banana spider" in it's web right outside our kitchen window ride it out in Lakeland several years ago as a hurricane crossed the state (I forget which). I decided I didn't need to live in a state where the spiders have bigger balls than the humans.

When I was in the Navy, I was stationed at Great Lakes for school and was about an hour from my folks house. People from SoCal, and Florida were always amazed at the snow and used to give me the "How can you live here" thing. Hurricanes, fires, landslides, earthquakes, giant bugs, fire ants, stifling heat and humidity, I never understood. We have what are called "Seasons" in the Midwest. If you'll excuse me, I need to tune up the snow blower.

If you don't like it, you can always MOVE... Anywhere you move will have it's own specific problems. I don't think there is a true paradise. I'm just glad there is nothing poisonous here. I can deal with the weather. Put more clothes on, take more clothes off. That's all there is to it.

Yeah I am wishing I had finished putting the engine back in the wifes jeep yesterday so I didn't have to ride my motorcycle in this ****. But, I'd rather live here than elsewhere. (right now anyway)

Sounds like the gulf coast of Alabama where I'm at. I have banana spiders the size of my hand all around my house/windows! I let em' be, they make GREAT security for would-be peeping Toms!

Yeah, I lived in Orlando for 15 years. Thankfully, I am about 500 mile north of there now. I don't miss it at all!

The bad thing about Florida ... car wise is that you have to ride 3 - 4 - 5 hundred miles just to get out of Florida so you can just get started to go to Pigeon Forge, Charlotte, Louisville or Hershey. :(

****! I guess we're lucky to live in Oklahoma. Transplant from Iowa and I'm not going back. Had my 35 Ford pickup frozen to the ground once.
