1941 Fords! Stand up and be counted!! Put your pics here

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Norrland, Apr 11, 2008.

  1. This was mine. Everyone was going Custom, so I built a Hot Rod. 351 built by Racing Head Service out of Memphis. Wish I hadn't sold it! :( It's in Yucaipa now

I just dragged a '41 pickup all the way from Nebraska! No pics yet, it's all apart but the body is rock solid and fairly straight.

Sanford and son, did you just buy this car in Bakersfield??? I live down the street from where it was parked on beech st., if its the same car. It looks like it but I never really stopped to check it out and the guy only had it for a couple of weeks.

  6. Not mine, but I hope a HAMB'r can grab it.

    An old hot rod apparently.
It has an independent front clip and an 8" or 9" rear axle in the back.

Located in a salvage yard about 25-30 miles south of Hoover Dam on Hwy 93, west side.

The yard owner may have the bumpers and other stuff unbolted and inside, not sure there.

Couple more pics of the same place.

Not to rag on your car, but notice how the quarter windows are noticeably higher than the door windows, a common mistake on these cars when chopped.

  10. How can you tell in those little dark pics?

Look at the first pic. I have studied every chopped 41-48 business coupe out there, especially before getting mine chopped.

Yes, I found it in Bakersfield on Beach. It has a nice flowing chop 6", it needs some TLC and some work to get it road worthy, safe, and dependable.

I just went out to my garage and measured it after reading your rag! Both door and rear windows are an even 2 1/2 inches from the belt line. You may want to make an appointment with your Eye Doctor!

Hey Chris.....c'mon man, put a coat of paint on my old 41 (just kidding). I sure miss seeing it when I go out the door, but am glad you have done so much with it. It is looking real "old school", an old high school rod.

He was talking about the way it appears at the top of the windows not the bottom. If you could post a good side view pic that would show whether or not it's just the angle of the shot you posted

The top of the window height is where I am referring too.

Yup, right on. You are lucky enough to have one of the very few business coupes that has a chop that really works, so Im sure you know what Im talking about.

You cant try and make a really raked chop on a business couple, like you would on a club coupe, and have the proportions work very well.

I figure you guys are mostly looking for cars, but here is my '41 truck. The original owner customized it with a '39 Dlx car front end back in the late '40s when he was using the truck to pull his model A race car.

Thanks. I've always felt that we hit it with the look I was after. Your chop looks fine also.

Theres that one callrd the Raven. I'd call it a trainwreck, but a lot of people seem to like it. I think Jane has done a drawing of one, and its really outstanding, but I have yet to see a real one done, at least anywhere near as good as Jane's design.

  27. There is also one in Sweden built by a guy i Jokers Car Club. Will find some pics

Fredrik Westergren's 1941 Ford Club coupe. Body work mostly done by Fredrik, but the C-pillars and a few other things on the chop where done by Wolf Christiansson (TinWolf)

    Early stages...
