yep. 4 door tri fives arent all that bad, the trim and 2 tone breaks up the door lines. i personally dont have a problem with 4 door cars, they can all be done up nice.

  3. Yes, and depending on what you are looking at, you can get alot more car (nice driver) in a 4dr than a project 2dr of the same model at the same price, or less.

For me, rule #1- count the doors. I don't do 4 doors.

she says that i cant take him alone untill he is 7
so i said she better get her walking shoes ready because she is now a swapmeet junky too

  8. My first 2 cars were 4 doors. My first was a 48 chevy and the second was a 55. I would not hesitate to buy another 4-door.

There's some very cool 4 door car's out there so i'd never say never..
But to date, i've only looked at them to purchase for myself when it's been for parts....and yes, they were in POOR shape when i did.. I'd never tear up a nice 4 door for parts..
About the only one's i'd consider for myself as a driver would be wagons..I don't see "doors" when i look at them..:)

  13. My winter beater last winter was bone stock 51 Ford four door. In the spring i stripped it and put all the parts into a beat up old 50 coupe body that i paid way too much for. I dont have a problem with four doors, infact some of the best times of my life were had in a 53 Monarch four door, but for me personally i like to think of resale value and with amount of time and effort i put into building a car four doors just dont have enough.

  14. save your money and buy the car you want.

  15. If you don't mind a 4dr,sure,why not! If you prefer 2dr's,don't but it! Why spend money on something if it isn't what you really want?
Mercs,Lincolns,32,34's,Wagons. There's 4drs that are cool. They don't bring the resale $ if that's what you have in mind...

The difference is the purchase price, the rest is the same with less resale. Most of us don't buy to sell, but eventually most of us sell the car for one reason or another.

Besides, I have a 4dr and a wagon as daily drivers since I have a family. I don't want another 4 dr for my fun car. Just my 0.02

If I had kids, I probably get a 4 door. But as it stands, I've only had 2 doors.

4doors as drivers are a great value. There are very few that I would sink much monry into but as transportation they are great.

A '39 4dr DeLuxe would fit just fine in my world. I had a chance to buy a nice one from Hatch a few years ago and still kick myself for not grabbing it. I'm also OK with station wagons if a clean one came along.

I dont see a problem with it. I prefer 4drs from '54 down though, even thought i have had many other 4drs too. I went to hamb this year with my '57 2dr hardtop, but next year I will probably bring my '53 4dr. More doors are more fun!!

    I would buy this one ... :D
I have admired this MorDor for a good while.
As a general rule ... I would not buy a MorDor for a hot rod project.

I have no children, so I do not need a MorDor ... but every now and then ... one stands out above the crowd. :)

Not as an ultimate hot rod but as a cruiser/driver sure! A couple of years ago my 90 yr old neighbor gave me a blue 66 Cutlass Supreme 4 door htp. 98K mile, original paint, 330 c.i. 4bbl, pglide, etc. a pretty nice old car, not perfect but decent. I fixed a few things, put a cd player, new tires & brakes and decided it should be worth a grand any day of the week. I put it up for sale and nobody even seriously looked at it, after a few months I just insured and registered it, it ended up being a sweet old car and a great trouble free driver! I drove it for a couple of years stone stock and eventually put 10-12,000 miles on it and sold it for $600 because I had too my other projects. Now 5 yrs later and my projects are languashing and I don't have an older car to cruise in. I should of lowered it, supremes/cragars w/ pinner whites and flaked the roof, panel painted over the original faded paint and had a nice super low budget cruiser to put around in. The 4drs were awesome for 4-5 adults to get in & out of too. I really kind of miss it and even though it was out of hamb year range it looked pretty "old" driving down the California interstates w/ all of the brand new cars out there! Just don't expect to ever get any money for it.

I had a 62 Caddy 4 door as well as a 49 chevy Styline Deluxe 4 door sedan.

when I had the Cad I had to drive everywhere.

  28. I actually don't mind 4 dr but like Bob said if it not what you want, you'll never get resale value. And your never going to be satified if you wanted a 2dr. BTW I'd take that 32 anyday Hotrod primer! In fact I really dig on 33-34 4drs, but those are always super expensive.

I wouldn't if they made a 2 door version of the same car.
If it only came in 4 door and I really wanted it I would. I just got a Citroen ds21!
