Anybody who whupped the big "C" is a tough dude in my book! I recently learned that a freind of mine in his late eighties just received a clean bill of health, too. Enjoying life seems to be a big help in beating any illness; "Hellraiser" should be getting his second wind by now. God Bless!

    Open letter to fellow H.A.M.B.'ers

As a foot note, several things more I would like to emphasize.

One is, and I suppose it's partly because I was diagnosed with cancer, and it has made me more aware of how prevailant it is. If you would only go and have a check up done, not only screened for cancer, but for many other symptoms of other diseases that may be lurking. So very true of the ole adage of "An ounce of prevention, is worth a pound of cure".

Secondly, when I've signed off I use, "For the Fun of it". Whether it's building our rides, "For the Fun of It", or taking the ride down some back country road and just enjoying the ride, "For the Fun of It". Or the get togethers with fellow hot rodders. The point is we've sometimes got to stop and just enjoy what we have.

To be sure, I enjoy having fun, and I enjoy bringing a smile from time to time on other's faces. By doing so, this has brought a smile to me. Much the same as if I take some young pup under my wing and pass on what I do know about cars, and how to fix them.

I've said before, there are others out there that are a whole lot less fortunate than me.

On some other posts here, I've noticed there are rod runs to help raise money for Cancer. I'm sure there are some other good reasons to take our rides to, not only to show our handy work, but to help raise money for those various venues. I think I also mentioned one other time, about just getting together and going to some nursing home or V/A hospital and spending a little time to bring a smile on their faces.

What some of this here rambling is meant to say is; you've got to take care of yourself, because no one else is going to do it for you. When we build our rides, build them safe, as if grandma is going to go for a ride in it, and she's scared to death of hot rods and customs.

Enjoy today. A plan for tomorrow is great, but it isn't here yet. Getting mad, and throwing the wrench across the floor when somthing doesn't fit, or want to come loose, will only probably break something else, and make you even madder.

I thank all of you who have offered your prayers, your well wishes, and now congradulations.

So, have fun at life. because it's "For the Fun of It"

Good looking as ever! ;)Congrats on your graduation, Dallas. We all couldn't be more proud of you. We love you and good luck traveling with the old man in a couple of weeks. Really wish I could go with you, but I can't get away from the restaurant so soon.:( Take care and make sure you have your wade boots on for the weekend. :D
