This pic shows one of 2 cars (he ran a T/Fas well) run by Tony Froome, both cars were considered a huge joke as the best pass by either was around the 90 mph (ET was measured in eons).

Been off on vacation so only just found this tread, looking at things from a different 'angle' if 'jellymold' funny car bodies were outlawed and replaced by bodies made to suit the old (replica) rules the drag would increase and 1000 ft racing could be dumped as the cars would be a mite slower.

  4. As long as we're on bad ass Fiats, how 'bout "Dirty Eddie" Potter's AA/Comp "Sudden Death"!! There's almost as much tire smoke in the coupe as out. This thing just has nasty written all over it.

  6. Was never much into Corvairs, but Doug's funny was cool. That it trailered the Mercury factory Comets at the 67 nationals is way cool.

Potter later just walked away from the sport and pursued golfing where he became and accomplished pro. Butch Leal did the same thing

Subsonic was the name of this first built swedish FED in 67-68 sometime. Funny thing was they built it out of pictures in magazines not knowing there was another one built just a few blocks away..

Hello my name is Wesley, and I am a drag racer........

  11. I've seen that coupe before. Didn't it belong to Eldon Dye, later of Dye & Hampton fame?? Must have run 1/8 mile. Sure isn't much of a gas tank.

Not "in motion" but a cool photo of Tony Nancy with his new-for-1964 "wedge" dragster.

Jack Williams, Top Eliminator at the '64 HRM Drags. Looks like they de-chromed their Mopar push-wagon or it's a low-buck model.

From the 9/64 HRM "Fresh Foal" article on Johnny Loper's switch from his "Ole Hoss" Willys to his "Lil Hoss" Anglia.

Talk about a sanitary car! Both of them!

Cool tow rig! That's at least a hundred grand sitting there in today's dollars yet fairly commonplace in those days.

This was the 1st version that crashed in 64. He built a second one in 65. It survived but was replaced by a generiac FED later. The 2nd version continued to be campained as late as 1970 by a named Gary Le Duc who raced it with an injected gas motor and raced A/dragster in local Div 7 comp eliminator events. It was still being sponsored by Nancy's long time sponser, Century Oldsmobile.
