Im running Edelbrock 3x2 manifold ( c355 ) on my 265 , you have to use 265 intake gaskets , there smaller than other smallblock gaskets . And also have staggered hole cal-custom v/c's that appear to be old , but have japan stamped in the bottom side ?

I had this 57 corvette 283 w/fuelie heads Cragar setup (4-71/chaindrive) and the Cragar manifold. The guy thopught it was junk and threw in a set of original Hedmann headers to get rid of them. My father in law who's horodded so long he has turned into a street rodder said back in the fifties and early sixties if you had a car with a SBC you were the shit.

I used to have a pair of Fenton valve covers. ;) Traded them for a mortgage payment.

Currently I have an Eelco aluminum oil pan, Roto-Faze one-capper ignition, Grant ignition, Du-Coil ignition, ancient Mallory Mini-Mag, NOS pair of old Heddman Hedders, various Cal-Custom valve covers, and a bushel of 97's if I ever decide to put one of these belly-button motors together.

quick question while this is still current. do all cal custom 6 fin valve covers have a flat gasket surface, as in not having an outer lip? kinda annoying that i can see my VC gasket.

All of the early style Cal custom sbc valve covers that I've seen are flat that way, and I've seen a lot of them.

Yep....the CC's on my truck are mismatched....kinda...one was made in California, the other Japan.....both have the flat flange. The Japan one actually has better detail between the fins.
