which one were you thinking? 61' was a 2 door. Had a '71 chev parts car. Lotsa high school more doors for winter beaters.

 

I never though about how many doors this car had, I just liked it,and I've been in hot rodding since the early 50's. Think for your self.

This one got me to Bonneville and back. No trouble except I lost one tire.

 

Got mine already. I am going to chop it into a extended cab pick up, unless someone wants to trade for a Model T/A coup body.

I would buy a 4 door now. When I was looking for my Chevy I only wanted a 2 door but now that I have that one I'd like to buy a 4 door as a second car. Something from the 30's maybe.

i bought my first 52 chevy 4dr. early this year. from the hamb. now i want a 2 dr for my self. the 4dr is for the wife n kids.

Never! I won't even use a "moredoor" as a modern / daily driver.

I did,wanted a car big enough for the family, that was still kinda cool...

 

To look at it as simplistic as possible, some guys go to extremes to make a 4 into a 2 door, but nobody makes a 2 door into a 4 door. Most of us never desire a 4 door, but sometimes have to take one because of, money, availabilty or whatever.

Personally, My recent dream kicking around in my head is a 32 ford four door chopped 3", channeled over the frame, with purple or black paint...4 speed and a stout 292 or 301 with 6 carbs.....Ive sketched it out, and really like the idea of 4 doors for people to ride along too... yes 4 doors are alright in my eyes

Other than a phaeton, no.

 

I bought this car because it was a 4 door.... if it were a 2 door I would have passed. so I go show one of my buddies and he starts to tell me to not put a bunch of money in it because 4 doors aren't worth anything.

would I build a chopped custom out of one ? no. but to me a 4 door deluxe with all the accessories is cool.

 

They make great choppers for people like myself who haven't chopped a car yet! I love the 4-door merc door chops, they look mean, and suicided..that's good stuff.

 

Been there done that. Letting a car sit and rot because it has "too many" doors is silly. Yes, the 2 door version of my Plymouth is more attractive, but the price was right, and she fired up like a champ. I'm glad she's not still sitting in the mud. There are several things I can do to improve the lines.

Bingo. I'm building a 28 Chevy 4 door, since its cheap, and its my first hotrod. I cannot afford a Model A Tudor in the shape this thing was in. Not to mention, if I screw this one up, it won't have been an as expensive mistake.

Oh yeah, it'll also be nice to be able to haul my nephew around when he wants to to go to the cruise ins with his aunt and uncle.

This is the '57 210 wagon that I've had since '74 (primered since '78). Outlived two wives. '57 Buick Grille. '55-'56 Cad bumper ends (no pansy rubber-baby-buggy-bumpers for me). 3rd engine. 2nd trans. The thing has taken me all over the country and I've had a blast driving it (even when it let me down in the middle of nowhere ~ at least I got a story out of it) for the past 34 years. Probably going to be buried in it!
