Hot Rods Got a New Ride

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by JohnnyFast, Sep 4, 2008.

  1. I've been designing and gathering parts for one like this. When I saw this for sale I decided to buy rather than build. That will allow me to get back on other projects and I can sell most of the mountain of parts I've accumulated.

1530 mile round trip from here to Rapid City and back but it's in its new home now....hope it's happy. I know I am. :)

  2. '26 T RPU (yes....it's 'glass :)) with power from an Iron Duke ahead of a 350 Turbo. The tranny will be changed to a 5-speed eventually. Frankland quick-change in an early Ford rear end. This thing looks better in person than it does in photos and the workmanship on everything is high-quality. Ever buy a car from photos and find it better than expected when you actually see it ? It happened to me !!! :D

  3. No but one of my Dad's old friends got a Russian Mail order bride that will make you dizzy just looking at her...glad that you scored this one and that it exceeded your expectations.

That is a slick ride, and one I would be proud to own and drive the crap out of.

Last year I seen a similar looking ride that an owner built himself with not so period parts and the basic ideas were nice and I told myself if/when I can Im gonna build a car that resembles that one I seen,or one like yours in the near future.

  5. Very nice ride Johnny! Very nice indeed.

Good deal Johnny, we ain't getting any younger!

I did the same thing last year, bought the Gadberry T from Burny here on the HAMB. It's glass too. And I am tired of welding rusty shit.

I showed a picture of it to my son and I said, when I build one, that's what I'm gonna do. this car is perfect.

He said you'll never get aroundtuit. He knows me:D

So I also bought it sight unseen except for pics. And it's the best decision I was ever pushed into making.

Hope you enjoy yours like I am mine.

I got a 283 in mine, took out the 350 trans and put a T-5 in.

Great looking car, glass or not.

I guess I am suprised that there is enough air flowing through that louvered panel in front of the radiator. Even though it's new to you, I assume that you have drive the car enough to determine that you don't have any cooling issues??? Is there an electric fan in addition to a mechanical?

It really looks great, I am just suprised it works. If it does, I might steal that idea some day.......
