There's two cars and I can't decide which one was worst.

    1990 Peugeot 405
    1987 Peugeot 205

Do I have to say more?

  4. I've had 55 cars,24 of them VW's. Had a 66 VW that just ran me into the ground! Seemed okay when I bought it($500 in 1977) but just had more problems than ALL the other cars put together! Sold it for $1000 a year later, but spent every weekend working on it. Bought it from a kid, first mistake. Usually bought my VW's from older, original owners,so they weren't messed with.
Even with the few issues i've had with my Merc, I can't complain about anything! After all, I still own a chopped 49 Merc! Kinda like saying "everytime Pamela Anderson and I go out,she farts in my car!". Not worth complaining about,LOL!!!

  5. First, remove rose coloured glasses.. I bought a Cruiser with all the pretty stuff - huh .. Engine oil was treacle and the wiring had been installed on all evidence by a redback spider on L.S.D. A little lamp had been 'installed' allowing me to 'find the vehicle in the dark. -On the beach..' First thing I'd do is remove that little dashboard lamp so that I could never find it again !

My Sunbeam Alpine was by far the wordt friggin car I have ever owned. My dad told me they were pieces of crap, but even he was suprised at just how crappy this car was. Carbs suck, electrical sucks, kinda slow. That Sunbeam was the beginning of my love for the great american hot rod!

was that the one with the dual carbs? if it was it was the worst car they ever made. I have an 86 accord with the same 2 litre and it's got 300000 miles and i'm still driving it. on the other hand worst car i've ever owned is my wifes 98 civic, the quality really went downhill. reminds of a 90's ford taurus. (thats another story) less then a hundred thousand miles, 3 window motors have failed, leaks oil, transmission clunks, clear coat is peeling off the paint, failed wheel bearings, failed cv axles, weather seal leaks, random electrical problems, odd ball engine codes, exaust fell apart twice, brake problems, the first day we brought it home the radiator literally blew up when we pulled it in the driveway. I had an 81 and I put over 700000 miles on it and nothing but minor stuff like worn out parts. never opened the engine.

    1987 Cadillac Fleetwood.
It was free, but it wasn't worth it. it had a fwd v8 so you couldn't change the spark plugs without removing the engine, the fuel filter was rusted on, the trans lines were rusted through, neither of the doors on the passenger side would open, It had NO balls, rode like a tug boat, got 10 mpg, had three tires that would go flat every other week or so, and had tons of electronics problems (the parking brake was electronic so after a while it just wouldn't release).
The only good thing about it was how much my girlfriend liked the big leather bench seats :D

two words chrysler lebarron. Had a neighbor with one in Atlanta,it was the special cross pen edition. WOO buy a car get a pen!! I think the pen was worth more. had the mitsu engine. I'm trying to think what wasn't wrong with that pos. first the wiring, to start the car, you had to undo the tilt colum and violently shake it up and down while turning the key, it was a convertible, the top wouldn't go down, except when it rained, due to water leaks into the wiring , when it rained enough the top would fold itself down, then refuse to go back up until the weather cleared and it dried back out. it had the voice, the one that didn't have an off button, when ever the key was on it spoke in garbled tounges over and over until you shut the key off. I never did understand what it was saying, but it was probably, the top is down and it's raining. the radio seemed to be a permanent part of the car, and it sometimes worked, but most of the time it didn't. wipers would randomly come on by themselves, horn would sometimes start blarring at night,. headlights went off all the times after hitiing bumps in the road. alternator was always going out. It had the mitsu engine need i say more about that one?

My first car: A 1956 Thunderbird. I was 13 years old in 1973 and talked my Dad into buying me a project car. It ran alright, but the body was so rusted that the doors sagged because the floor and rockers were almost gone. And it was repaired really badly from three heavy collisions somewhere. The top was a crappy reproduction, and the pot metal soft top bows were broken from an old accident and not replaced (typical). It had a fiberglass front fender held on with pop rivets, and no skirts or continental cover because they were damaged in one of the wrecks and never replaced.
I did the world a favor and parted it out when I was 18.
I learned to look under a car before buying it.

'56 Mercury Monterey 2 door hardtop.Bought used in '60 while in the Air Force, stationed in Indiana. That Merc new EXACTLY how much money you had in your pocket at any given time and would suck it out of your fist inexchange for parts. Crank went flat, swapped out the original 312 Y block for another POS 312 that rattled worse than the one I took out. Got transferred to McChord AFB in Washington and hammered that thing 2375 miles across the country adding 3-4 quarts of oil a day.(Bought it in 2 gallon cans, measured it into the motor by "Glugs". I.E. remove oil cap, tip can, count the "glugs'.4 "glugs equals 1 quart.) Hell, I oiled interstate 80 single handed.Mastered the art of replacing generator brushes along side the road WITHOUT removing the generator. Friend from High School days worked for a Ford Dealership in Wapato Washington and talked me into letting their "Ace" Ford Tech diagnose this "Death Rattle". He did, looked me right in the eye and "Kid, I wouldnt drive it across the street. she's about to die". I thanked him,THEN told him what I had just done, he just shook his head. Kept on drivin' it and a kid I worked with at McChord wanted to buy it, but I sure didnt want to sell it to someone I knew, but reluctantly I did. He drove it to Chippewa Falls Wisconsin and had a friend build a good motor for it.I had lowered it(both ends) nosed and decked it,right after I bought it and she was a sweet lookin ride, but deep downshe was a POS.

Dodge Caravan,3 of them all junk, and Jeep Cheeroke.

  17. '82 Trans Am with a 305, bought as an 18-year old with a hardon for a fast car (ok..."fast"). I had owned it for 2 days when the fan belt broke and the car overheated in spectacular fashion...it went downhill from there. That car HATED me even after I sold it to a "friend"....two years later the guy he had sold it to after NEVER tranferring the title needed me...ugh. Some of the bile in my mouth is from the car's mechanical reliability, some just from being young and dumb, but with lessons learned.

it was a mustang..i hated the dam thing and it was such a piece of crap i cant remember the exact year, late 60's like 69 or early 70's like a 1970..not any later or earlier..it was a 69 or 70..this car sucked so bad i almost forgot about it until i seen this thread. And I only owned it for a few months before i got rid of it. What a total pile of crap. after looking the car over i realized i had just bought one of fords abortions, and needed to give it back, so I took it to a ford dealer and traded it for an Escort..yes an Escort.that escort was a much better car than that rustang could have ever been even when it was new,..what a total pile of crap..the guy who designed that pos should have lost his job

1966 Lincoln- vacuum lines, need I say more?

my sister got a new 1989 nissan, motor ceased up on her way home, no oil in the motor from the factory.
the dealer told her it was her falut for not checking the motor oil before she drove off the lot and wanted her pay for a new motor in a car with less then 10 miles on it.

a vist to the dealer from her 3 big brothers fixed that.

Don't know if I've had good luck or don't know any better. Never owned a car newer than 15 years old but never really had one that could be called a lemon or was constantly in the shop. Even the spouse's new ones were ok or better, the worst of the lot 01 Chrysler Sebring that went in for an oil change and the dealer had to change the motor (they paid).

I bought my first brand new car at 19 years old, an 84 Z/28 with the L69 H.O. engine. What a Turd, every tow truck in town new the car, and it was a miracle I didnt get killed in it because the brakes were terrible from new. I had to buy an old toyota with 100k miles on it to have a way to work every day.

Second total piece of junk was my wifes Lincoln LS, took a beating on it in a trade just to be rid of it.

    93 Dodge Caravan.
    Brakes went out.
    Water pump and timing belt.
    Trans was slipping.
Bolts broke off for the thermostat housing. Drilled and tapped for new ones.
Broke the screws holding the distributor cap on.
I had to drill the distributor to put longer bolts in it.
Everything was made of aluminum and corroded, you touched it and it broke.
Finally the head gasket blew and I sold it on ebay for $175.
I forgot to mention one severe winter the rear wheels locked up with ice and the emergency brake wouldnt release.
The damn thing had three wiper blades. 2 Front and 1 rear. All three were different sizes!
I had to buy three sets of blades!
I can safely say I hate Dodges.
Dont take it personal Mopar guys.
I told my wife its not a good thing when every time I work on it I have to have a cordless drill!

Most of the cars I've owned since 1982 have appeared on the Consumer Reports "Used Cars to Avoid" list soon after I bought them... Darts, K-cars, Pintos, Escorts, basically because I'm a cheap SOB and I went for economy, ended up paying it eventually in towing bills. Seemed like the Fords all had tin foil for head gaskets. The worst was a '99 VW , my wife is German , wanted a European car, so we got a Passat; looked nice, when it ran well it was nice touring car, but I swear the Check Engine light was hooked to a motion detector-- everytime I got behind the wheel that thing came on, and all the parts had to come from Stuttgart to get the damn thing fixed. ...she drives a Camry now.

the crappiest, P.O.Shittiest car I've ever owned was a 62 VW bug nicknamed the tetanus shot. The whole thing was rusty. The pan was so rusted that it felt like cardboard. I slammed the dookie out of it too. Notched the springplates, dumped the front end, narrowed the beam 6" and my wheels were wrapped around with temps. I scrape my pan and threw sparks when I drove down the freeway. Ironically it was the most fun car I ever driven. It was like playing russian roulette everytime I drove it. Good thing I got rid of it before I killed myself.

first generation hyundais, well actually any of them, but the first generation one,you couldn't keep the back wheels in alignment,I mean nothing was worn out or broke, the dam things just wouldn't stay, my step sister had one of the POS's . Oh i almost forgot the dam isuzu Imark tubo shit can. what a pile of stinking dog shit, My real sister had one, i must have replaced that turbo three times in one year. they were also know to catch fire from various fuel leaks, She traded it in finally, and as she was driving off the dealer lot with her new car,it did just that, went up in flames. just sitting there on it's own.
