I finaly got it rolling... [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
besides the missing panhard bar the suspension is pretty much complete. I am now working on right side drive cowl steering. I have a reversed corvair box that has to be mounted upside down and is going to take up alot of space because of the awkward angle. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using a mid sixties mopar box for the cowl steering on my '29 A. They're pretty plentiful & cheap and I like they way it look too. No reverse-ing needed either.

BTW, nice looking project. Keep us posted.

60s mustang would work. dont know how easy that would be for you to get but its got a longer output shaft and right for the design. next time your in lincoln ne let me know and ill switch you for the one youve got pictured.

  16. Why is RSD a big deal? Easy to do cowl steering with the Mopar box as stated above^^^^^^!

Im not sure why right side drive. Its just one of those things thats stuck in my head. I think i will hit the local wrecking yards next weekend in hopes of finding a mid 60's mopar box. and no i do not have ant interior molding sorry.

If you wanted to do right hand steering, many other boxes would work. Just use one that would normally have to be reversed (for left hand drive) and don't reverse it. You'll just want one that'll exit out of the right side of the cowl.

Hey maybe you could market US mfg. steering boxes to hot rod blokes on the other side of the pond! :D
