I told myself I wasn't going to do this but when you find a deal...

Just made the deal over the phone for this 1959 Plymouth Sport Suburban. It was an Albuquerque vehicle and has very little rust. Looks like it's been repainted but the paint is so so. Very stock vehicle with all of the interior, trim, etc. 318 two barrel.

I'm sort of in trouble with the dear wife because I didn't talk to her about it first. She's having a hard time understanding why I want something like this for a daily driver. I'll be selling a couple of other projects to fund a lot of it.

Anybody want to buy a Honda CL450 chopper or a 1958 Redfish Shark project complete with 1959 Evinrude 35 Lark outboard?

Very nice..reminds me of my days at Lions and Fontana.
Now all you need is a roof rack loaded with all of your racing goodies, and oh, some speed equipment decals in the rear quarter windows....
    Good score...:)

  3. Glad you did it!!!! I kinda thought you would do that one over teh 57.

This isn't the one I mentioned Trent. That one was all the way down in California. I happened across this on the Colorado Springs Craigslist. :) It's had less work done on it but is in better overall shape and is a lot more complete. Can't wipe the grin off of my face.

NICE!!!!!!! Way WAY cool - the wife will come around - sometimes it just takes them a little longer. Wait till people start falling all over themselves going nuts when they see it - she'll understand!!!

    Bitchen car.

My dad bought a white 9-passenger Plymouth Suburban wagon new in 1959 that we drove to Oregon with in 1960. Mom, dad, grandma, 4 young boys, our dog, and pullling a utility trailer with our clothes and camping gear. What a trip and all of it (for me) from the rear-facing back seat!

That poly 318 will surprise you even in such a big car. Have fun.

  27. That is the shit right there...I love those cool mopar finned wagons...I can remember riding in the back with damn near my whole Little League team in one of those...you have got to hitch up the boat to that thing and post a pic here (keep the boat). Take your wife to Costco and let her fill the thing up with goodies...she will see the function and she will appreciate the form when you come out of the store and half a dozen people are gathered around you checking it out...women need validation and remember that it's never a good idea until it becomes their idea.

I once heard that "It's better to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission". Nice wagon.
