Man pacheco I think the new rule should be you have to start the friday art thread lol. I started the one last week and it was to much pressure.

I was supposed to be driving to a show in Oklahoma city at 4am but the wife and I decided to stay in Houston and ride it out. It gives me a chance to work on some new pieces for the Burnout in Houston next weekend. Here is some old stuff I am still working on the new stuff.

Club plaques were a little on the pricey side for us right now, so I got out the leather and tools to make them myself. Laid it on an old Harley floorboard and smashed rivets around it. Design by Erik (Hidden).

    Good morning, gentlemen...

As usual, wishing all a great weekend. For those on the Gulf Coast and in the path of Ike... Be safe.

    Best,

ewt2. Thanks man. Love the drawings. You try any oils? I think your obsession for detail would look great on canvas. Here's one of my dad's '56. [IMG]

Here is my humble entry to the friday art show. Figured I just need to start posting to get motivated really start producing some art.

Hope you like...The paint was done on a bowling pin with one shot. Its for a benefit car auction in Momouth, Illinois. called Rods and Pins. on the 28th of this month. Sorry for the crappy pictures. Camera is a little shaky! : )

    Thanks for looking!

Love your rendition of it. Does he still own it? If not do you know what happened to it?
I have always wanted to try Oils. I've rendered in Casein, Gouache, Pastel, and Marker. In my day job I rendering buildings in color. The pencil drawings I do have to be completely different from that, or I'd go crazy. I think the Oils thing would be pretty cool though... Someday!

    "Heading Home"
Another day of racing is over. Time to hit the road.
You and your roadster and a crisp cool night.
The sound of the flathead and the sun cutting through
the last clouds of the day bring a smile that only a few will know.

    It's more than a car.

Cool. Give 'em a shot. Pastel actually isn't too far off. Can get some of the layers with them. The '56 was sold in 1963, and then wrecked shortly there after. Some dude hit a semi head on with it. I understand what you mean about the day job. Makes me wonder what/if the other artists here do. I am a stay-at-home dad. Good thing my girl likes to work in the studio and help on the car.

Thanks, I know, it's just that all the stuff I've done can't be shown till it's been on market for awhile. I'll be posting some new Dice stuff next week though.

  24. Now, I'm the first to admit I'm not very artistic.
Here is what idle hands do when you run out of gas for the welder, have a few friends over rotating your beer stock, and have a silver sharpe handy.

Tried for a tiki idol.... kida close.
