NO, NO ,NO......at least 2/3 of the ride must be inside the barn in order for it to count!

 

These shots from Daytona are REALLY cool. I live near there and it's still rare to find photos from this era. They allowed local guys with Hot Rods to run at the speed trials during speed week too, not just the big guys. But there are very few photos of the hot rodders running on the sand.

As An Engineer I really have to wonder which actual cylinder First Sputtered and was
Factually the First miss firing cylinder which would have been Physically Responsible for
starting this event? It's mind boggleing!

The photo you posted of Linda Vaughn and Nikki Phillips is one that I took at the 1970 Summer Nationals at York. Jack Duffy and I were the only ones taking photos at then as the car was parked near the tower and starting line. Great memories from that event.
