This truck isnt really traditional, and its not really modern either. I dont know what to call it, but i like it. so check it out.

hello everyone, im new to the forum, names brandon willis, im 19, and i own a shop called Blood, sweat, and gears with a few of my buddies.

this project has been going on for about 4 months and is the first car I've ever built. 100% of the work was done by me. but ill give you guys a simplified run down of whats up, it might take a few posts though.

    specs
12 inch notch, 4 inch z behind tranny crossmember, full custom triangulated 4 link/front suspension, boxed frame, slam RE7s, aim 1/2 inch valves, 2 viar 480s, 1 3 gallon tank, all 1/2 inch fittings and valves, 4 inch drop ibeams, disk brakes in the front from a 73 f100, 32 ford power brake booster under the floor, 352 big block with a mild cam and holly 2 barrel. built c6 tranny with b&m shift kit.

sheet metal work includes, shaved chrome, emblems, wipers, cowl, mirrors, CB antenna holes, both gas tank fillers, utility box, and a custom made grill.

plans, paint will be mint green base on the bottom with white scallops with emerald green mist pearl, the roof will be the same white with dark green metal flake scallops. Wheels are going to be the white as well, with white walls. bed floor will be tubbed with sheet metal over the wheels nad lexan over the rest to see the bag work. frame is going to be candy green metal flake., interior will be all white, with a green metal flake dash, green metalflake moon eyes steering wheel. custom made shifter, white tuck and roll bench seat, and focal subs/componets

here is the truck when i bought it, peice of crap really, bed was completely rusted out rusty everything as you will see not to mention the "body work" had been done before with many many gallons of the cheapest bondo money can buy and mesh.

bought it to haul *** got bored with it as a *** hauler, and decided to slam it. so heres the notch
    [IMG]

    4 link bag mounts
    [IMG]

again with the 4 link mocked up
    [IMG]

    a little detail
    [IMG]

    finished four link with supports
    [IMG]

then it was to the front, where i used 4 inch drop beams(dont ever bag a truck on beams it costs a lot of money) so i cut out the entire factory crap and started over.
    before it was supported
    [IMG]
    complete
    [IMG]

at that point, this is where the truck sat
    [IMG]
definatly not up to my standards at all, so i had to z the frame
    mocking up the Z
    [IMG]
    completed Z
    [IMG]

then for stregnth, i boxed/shaved the entire frame
    [IMG]

then you saw the missing floor for the body drop, so heres the after product, i didnt have a radius bender so its all straight angles, the Boxes cut in the floor are going to houes my subs eventualy
    [IMG]

went that far might as well build a firewall too
    [IMG]

then it was time for sheet metal work to fix the truck.
shaved the utility box in my front yard, long ago, along with all the chrome, mirriors/emblems
    [IMG]
then i shaved the cowl/wipers little metal finish
    [IMG]

repaired the cab corner, no bondo in those pictures, looked great with minimal filler

shaved dash with only lights/ignition switch
    [IMG]

    and then some extras
more pictures of the truck outside before real body work/the body drop and a lot of stuff

haha thanks for the feed back

hahahahaha, thanks man, the ears, 7 years actually, going on 8 here pretty soon, trucks got about 4-5 months on it.

    thanks will do

its got 3 1/4 inch plate gussets on it, ive hopped the truck with the motor in it and no problems thus far.

thanks will do, this was a big learning experience, ive been planning my next build but i have to get the car first, i found a 51 Cadillac coupe deville, just gotta get the old guy to sell it

thanks, Before this i was a sports photographer, so the photos should be of atleast good quality because its either a 12k camera unless i was lazy and took it with a cellphone. (that makes me sound like a rich kid, which im not, photography pays for its self)

And by nice pics, I ment that they showed a nice progression of work and detail. But they are nice quality too.

Again, congrats on the truck man. Can't wait to see it finished!

whats funny a bout that is the truck can go about 1 inch lower, than the ground.

it literally lays rocker, you cant stick paper between the truck. if i cut the rocker off, it would lay door.

  16. am i seeing that right? you have the rear air bags pushing on the center of the extra long lower suspension bars?

    yes your correct.

lower link bars are extra long for better ride quality, the bags are mounted 1/2 way down the links for extra lift and better ride quality as well, plus over axle bags are lame IMO.

but its .120 DOM, with a bent peice of .120 DOM on the bottom and 5/8s inch SOLID square zig zagged from the center out for support, they arent going anywhere.

expect a large update tonight guys, i mounted the body to the chassis last night but forgot the camera. Today the plans are to finish mounting the body. Make sure we can get all the gaps we want, trim and reinforce the fenders. build new frame to support the front core support, mount everything. Tear down, and paint! ITS SO CLOSE, 2 weeks until its complete!

well i have a real update for all of you. the frame is painted, and finished. I have to spray the link bars tomorrow but besides that, the frame is D O N E. shocks have been mounted and blah blah blah. heres a teaser pic, you will all have to wait untill the 14th for real pics because thats when everyone gets to see it. Theres a carshow down in tucson at 22nd and prudence at the new RIDE now motorcycle shop, if anyone wants to come check it out, do so, my truck will be there in almost full effect. It would drive if i had a brake booster, but since i dont, its not going to have any of the electrical/pedal assemblies OR a shifter or any interior in it!

    heres a teaser in primer

Dig the flake, and really admire your ambition and dedication.

But I agree with Gotgas and 36-3 window's doubts about the bag set-up fabrication. Looks like alot of strain will be put on some odd geometry.

Are you planning to run the wide whites on the truck, or will you be changing those out for something with a thinner white wall?

Good work. Are you safe with the ol' scrub line?

The only reason I ask is cause you never hear anyone talking about scrub line from experience. Probably cause they're fuckin dead.:D You're too talented to lose to somethin like a bag blowout on the highway.

bags, "body drops" and laying frame are not my cup of tea, but it looks like you do good work, and your designs on that rear suspension look really cool.

serious question... what are your ears going to look like when you are 50?
