    Guffey,

What became of the '64 lightweight Dodge that you had at Carlisle ten or so years ago? I remember you telling me that you found it in the back of a junk yard in Detroit (I think). I also remember it in yellow primer, no headlight buckets, plexiglass windows and American mags on the front. That was a great find!

It came out of a junk yard in south Chicago. It was Ramses II sold at Mr. Norms and turned into Bob Kokenes' Koke Machine. I used it as a trade in to Toli Polewick on the Lee Smith 1965 Plymouth Haulin Hemi II AWB.

Mike, last time we talked you were searching for or had found Little Al, I think, the four Allison engined Fiat. What happened with that project? I'm having a brain fart on who the owner was, thinking the name was Jimmy Lyle; and he was in Hawaii.

I doubt it's Ganahl, Royal. He's gotta be 10-15 years younger than me.....I was 21 when I took the photo.

The gravel there was at the very west edge of Indy Raceway Park. The old farmhouse faced the road that ran north and south.

Would the last car be the famous Marcellus and Borsch AA/FA? Well, actually, AA/A as it would have to be a gas burner to compete in a NHRA divisional at that time.

Yeah, I'm almost certain that's Wild Willie at Riverside in 1961. The photo caption didn't mention his name (or Marcellus'), it only said it was the Harrell Engines car.

This car would as the basis for his twin engined Corvette funny that serfuraced in mid 1970, a few months after he won top gas eliminator with his single engine Chrysler dragter. American Bandstand sponsored the Corvette. The car inspires one to recreate a plastic model of it, no?

The Cuda at top and on fire in the traps at OCIR was once funny run by Dunn & Reath in 1971; their budget car as it was built for $1700.00. A bargin even in those days. The car used the motor and drive train from the AA/FD of the seaon prior, thus requiring only that a chassis be built. The body came with the metal flake embedded in the actual fiberglass, thus saving money for a paint job

I could look at this car all day long. Black steel rears with MHs, spoke fronts, twin blown SBCs, nice rake to the body--which is a '39 Simca, not a Fiat, although similar.

Don Hampton came to Australia with the Corvette twin and crashed it first run (I think) at Surfers Paradise Dragstrip. Don went off the track onto the grass at the side of the track, ran down the grass at full throttle came back on to the racing surface and T boned his opponent Bob Dunn destroying both cars. Jeff Burnett purchased the remains and built his first Funny Car using an Australian Chrysler Charger body. Hampton took back an Aussie wife when he went home, I think her name was Shelly. The Don Cook "Damn Yankee" also came to Australia and it was raced by Graeme Cowin who later rebodied it with a '78 Camaro body . The Don Cook body is still laying around in Perth Western Australia.

Love the T West exploded schematic drawings. This was done by human hands, not a computer, making it all the more a piece of art. The Vette was powered by alky burning 350 LT-1's, with the blower and old school Hillborn 2 port injectors taken from the old coupe/dragster motors. Those motors were bored/stroked 283's BTW, culminating in something like 360+ cubes. Remember when the coupe/dragster debuted, the 327 wasnt commercially available. The twin engined Vette ran mid 7's at about 180. It was consistent and durable making it a worthy match racer

    royalshifter & Dennis,

If you are asking about my photos, Larry Kopp was taken at one of the Keystone Nationals events, Larry Arnold was the Summer Nationals (Englishtown) and the other two were at Delmar, DE.
