The '55 Nomad is one of my favorite cars. I would much rather have a stock one with all of its trim intact.

As far as this thing goes, if the engine under the hood is functional, what's the purpose of the big cover in the back?

I'm amazed people still build cars this way. Reverse crushing in a way. -stick

Cars like this have an expiration date. It looks great today, but in two years it'll look dated and out of style.

That's the beauty of a timeless, traditional design--it'll ALWAYS look good.

That's what I was gonna say, there's nothing left of the Nomad but a smoothed off blurry resemblance of it's former self, it's "soul" is gone. I like machines, with wires and lumps and edges and mechanical's hanging out in all their glory, this has all the soul of a toaster.

That's exactly how I feel too, and I'm using his quote as my signature, I liked his quote, but I hated his art. I sure wish Barris, Roth, Winfield, or one of the other greats had said it though.

I even like it less, now.

Go to hotrodconstruction.com you can see the build pictures on there guys.

  16. I agree. While the craftsmanship is drop dead gorgeouse, there is nothing to catch the eye and draw you in or make it interesting. All that work to make a potentially great car totally forgetable. I mean what is there to make you remember THIS particular 55 Nomad? It turned into just another hyper-smoothie on large billet rollers. Just my free opinion, worth what ya paid for it.
