anyone seen this car lately? i really like it does anyone have any pics the can post? i think i read where they used the leather off of pete chaperris couch for the interior to give the car a broken in feeling
You'd just HAVE to be cool, to wear that artichoke hat. There's NO WAY that Mike Ness could pull that look off.
I think I still have the Street Rodder that did a feature on the car. I will send it to you if you would like.
The one your thinkin about is black with red leather off of Pete's couch,Billy calls it the mambo coupe. It's in his book with the Eliminator 34.a 32.a 61 caddy .62 impala and some more.
I think thats the '36 that everyone is refering to. Someone HAS to have a picture. That bronze (if I remember right) skull looked like it was imbedded in the grille from a collision. I thought it was a perfect Billy Gibbons feature. Frank
OOPS!........My Bad........apologies........thought So Cal built that one for Billy.........duhhhhhhhhh Sorry... CB
I remember the car had a pearl necklace (the actual kind, not the one he sings about ) around one of the bumper guards in the photo shoot from Street Rodder, I always wondered who got that subtle message. It appears that the editors didn't. He had a rigid Evo Harley that was all rusty and had the same skull guy coming out of the tank. Billy is cool!
I think they got it but were to PC to comment That bike was built by my buddy Johnny Pag and that's where they got the idea for the car grille/skull
Brucie's the shit. I think he has a pic of him with about all the famous and cool cats in the Rodding World. And knows some pretty good history too! Proud to call him a friend
Awwwwwwwwwwwww, shucks, Don.........you know you're my real hero! Everything you build is badass! See you next June! CB
My grampaw (was a blind western swing guitar player) sold Billy & ZZ Top some of their first equipment in Victoria TX when they were just starting out. As a little kid I always thought he was telling TX tall tales, but I met Billy by chance once & he verified and apologized for missing Grampaw Lou's funeral... in fact he stood up and stepped away from his table of 6 *hotties* to talk with me once I told him whose grandson I was. Very cool, total gentleman. Same beanie.
Billy G is a true gentleman and a great guy Ive know him for years FYI that "beanie" is over 100 years old and given to BFG as a gift in africa,as much his trademake as the beard now
