ok i want to lower my truck but have a smooth ride so i need some help should i try lowering the stock frame or try and get a s10 frame which one would be cheaper and better any ideas tell me thanks
Use the search function... The S10 frame topic has been beat to death, and I think there is even a thread about who has used it on what and what works and what doesn't. Search feature is your friend. edit: also, do a search for IFS or mustang II for the other part of your question. I would also recommend PM'ing Elpolacko he has a shop here in Phoenix that does killer IFS set-ups.
ok thanks brian and nice truck real clean and zman i have the second searies why would it not work i was thinkin the long bed s10 my uncel has a 51 and it works on his is it the cab mounts because he had to mod the s10 frame to make it work oh and my truck is a short
Task Force (55 second series through 59) are wider than the previous Advanced Design (47 through 55 1st series). The track from the S10 is not wide enough for these. Now there are some ways around this, and I am dealing with a few of them on my International. But it's not quite the difference as the Task Force trucks.
Most newer full size Chevy trucks are to wide unless you're going for that 4x4 look. The mid 70's Chevy trucks are about 4-5 inches wider than stock 55 would be.
