I don't have a better picture of the door art. The sign says ROAD KILL PICK UP with a picture of a dead possum upside down with flies swarming around it. Then below that is the name of the town- POSSUM FLATS, MO. The art work was done by a guy that only lives about 6 blocks from me. It is all done by hand and brush painted. I thought he did an excellent job. Took mhim about 4 hours.

I would have to agree. I think that this one and the satin slipper are my two favorite Chevy trucks.

What do you think the trim would look like painted white on the 65 f100? like the grille and wheels... maybe even some interior.

 

Kirk Hanning's truck is absolutely amazing, I seen it at Billetproof, If you would post some pics of the buildup I think everyone would love to see all of your neat tricks. This truck should be on the cover of a magazine.

 

i liked it better when it was pink and there was a shell necklace hanging from the rear view mirror

Here's mine. I'm thinking of going with a silver or charcoal suede after I finish the bodywork. The Blitz black is pretty sweet!

Scratch...what did you do with the paint?????How did you go darker and keep the patina?

 

lol he probably washed and waxed it?! maybe a spit shine? its a nice lookin ride.

 

Hey 65fordguy- I used John Deere semi gloss black and flatener. One gallon of paint to one quart of flatener. Did not use the blitz black that everybody talks about. this paint has been on the truck for 3 years and is holding up good. No bleed thru like you get with primer. You can use about any industrial paint and get the same results. That gives you a big choice of colors.

it was covered in yellow patina from being next to ocean its whole life ..i washed it with a scotchbrite pad and dishwashing soap ..


and yes those are lake pipes and bellyburners .. both are functional .

 

Hahaha it's changed color because you washed it, that's awesome. I love that year model. Are you going to chop it?

 

Here's mine, started with Red Oxide and keep adding black until it was brown enough

my baby, deffinately no shine, and right now no engine, hood, wheels, or brakes... waiting on parts sucks

if you look closely at the attatchment i'm got something growing in the bed of my truck... and some sort of mold or fungus growing onn many of the body panels, talk about shine free

looks like any of my brothers truck, shiny grill, nice wheels and tires, nice exhaust, everything else.... not important.

 

my beater is currently Dupli-color flat black from the ol' rattle can, but that's temporary, just until I get the body hammered out smooth, then it's going to be something shiny....just don't know what yet.
