Is that Chuck Flores? He raced the Shark after purchasing it from Safford/Gaide AKA the Sour Sisters. Or was the tail piece simply obtianed from the original 1962 Shark of Adams and McKwen?

I wasn't sure. That's why I didn't refer to it as the Shark Car.

I remember seeing both the Little Red Wagon and the Chuck Wagon at Fremont in the 60's They always put on a good show and the sparks were cool at night. The L.A. Dart was another car that used to run. These are not my photos.

I think the tail section was taken from the '62 Shark of Adams and McKwen and mounted on a different car altogehter. The '62 version "fin" was not as pronounced as that found on the Sour Sisters '65 model. I know Flores ran the Sour Sisters car from 66-67 or later. Besides, tin man Jack Ewing was one of the few capable of pounding out such a delicate and beautiful piece of work. These tail pieces were indeed a laborous effort and many were sold off sans the rest of the car. Case in point was the Hanna tail section mounted on the Cretz, Greer and Coleman car. When Coleman crashed the car, he did so without the tial section being mounted. It was later sold to John Bateman who mounted it on his Atlas Oil Tool Spl.

Whichever car this was, I would guess that this is the only one of those that ran outside of the West Coast. This was at the first Tulsa World Finals.

this an old Ford Falcon that some of the old drag racers from Arizona will remember.

Ed Smith of Glendale ran this Falcon named the Sour Six. He held several records with the small Ford 6 engine.

Not many folks know there was a Sour Six 2... the later body style 1964 -up Falcon

This is the Texas Shark car. First raced as Neal and Austin, then Neal and Pain. Then the car was purchased by Mike Brown and ran as the Whiz Kids.
The body is nothing like the Adams car it is almost an exact clone of the Sour Sisters car. It has been lost to history but has been talked about as a good car to reproduce. I would be proud to be the one to duplicate that tail section.
