Roll Call, NHRA CHRR, Bakersfield, Oct. 9-12

The NHRA California Hot Rod Reunion is coming up fast. It will be at the Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California running from October 9-12.
Don Garlits is bringing the Mooneyham and Sharp 554 coupe...




Also, Garlits is bringing the Swamp Rat 12A.
The Tennessee Bo Weevil and Tommy Ivo's last dragster, that has been restored, will also be there.

Haven't missed one yet. Not starting now...

 

I'll be there as a spectator. No selling for me. I won't have issue 5 ready, but maybe I can rustle up a printout. Should be heading to the printer at the end of October.

Unfortunately, the "World's Fastest Austrian" won't be making passes in anything other than a golf cart. That little episode a couple years ago forced him out of the driver's seat permanently. And I miss trying to guess how many times he'd whack the throttle on burnouts... a true racer.

We will be there from Spring, TX with the AA/Fuel Coupe (the Gizzle Hopper). And an Aussy named Dave Staig from Melbourne has volunteered to help on the pit crew.

In addition, the gizzle Hopper has been invited to particpate in the Friday night cacklefest at the main motel. How cool is that?
