I've been working on this forever.......... so long my blonde hair's turned grey. Now it's off to the interior shop. http://s258.photobucket.com/albums/hh258/mikeb9933/?albumview=slideshow
Nicely done. I usually stop waiting for a picture to load when I only see one radiator hose on top, happy I waited. Well conceived car. I really like the color.
plastic fan? running a mechanical fan, but yes, that's a plastic shroud. It needed to run a lil cooler so the shroud got added. there was alot of thought in building this project but it was difficult to make it all work. was aiming towards the 50's style with some hidden modern touches. the ac and heat was one of the most difficult tasks. We hid the unit behind the seat so it wouldn't be seen. But i forgot one thing, where to run the defrost tubes. Had to build a sub floor and ran ducts between the 2 floors up to the kick panels. welded in some louvers next to the windsheild swivels and it blows across the glass. We built a fold down panel under the dash with the heat and ac controls. The compresser is mounted under the altenater. built a fold out panel in the kick panel to hold the ignition, wiper and headlight switches. I'll stop boring you with the details.there's just alot of work that will never get noticed. thanks for the comments.
rust2rich, please don't take my comment the wrong way your car is very nice... for me the shroud is a little distracting... also did not realise you where running air... again you did a fantastic Job on the car.
I have to admit the shroud is the first thing I saw too. But it is a top notch car very nicly done. I like the stance. What drop do you have on the axle and what spring did you run up front? Jeff
Nice job. I agree on the plastic shroud, but as they say, hot rods are never really finished. Here's a little food for thought: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=294935
Great car. On the issue of the fan shroud how about doing one made out of bent aluminum and riveted together? It would give it a more industrial look as apposed to the injected plastic look that's on it. A little more "old timey" IMO. That being said I wouldn't blame anyone for not changing it, it would be a lot of work for little gain seeing as the car is assembled. Frank
