Great pics Marty thanxs, I visit your site often, gotta love the upright mods/supers with the big meats! Here's a couple from a Colo. show this past weekend. The #77 is a currently active racer the others are restos. BTW- do you have any more pics of that street legal T in the background in the last pic? I got the rear shot from your site.

    Thanks for the memories!
Some of those guys are just legendary names that I heard as a kid. My folks didn't think too much of racing so we didn't go. Kind of odd because my Dad was a mechanic when I was a kid. Mom said she didn't want me hanging around with "those hoodlums". If she could see me now!

Sorry, that's the only shot I got of it, I didn't react fast enough as it was coming toward me, which is why I only got the rear shot. By the next time I saw it, it was back in it's trailer.

Odd tidbit: Back in the early 70's the Supers that ran at San Jose/Clovis/Madera actually ran under NASCAR sanction, and therefore earned national modified points.

  20. Congrats Pete, I love that shot of Polverari's 711 coupe on the trailer behind the custom Dodge pick up. I dig those skirts! Bet you didn't know your old man owned a 47 Dodge pick up when he was 17 huh? A buddy of mine had a radiator shop and loved the truck, swapped him for some car or other.

My Old Man's Little Six, Slant six that is. It Was the track record holder till he went to a Hemi in the 70's. He found this when he started buying up all the Hemis he could find in the five state area. :D
