  1. slant 6, six carbs , 96 inch wheelbase. Yes its an automatic. I am too old to shift and probably couldn't remember where the gears are anyway. .

Here's mine. Putting a legal cage in a chopped coupe proved to be too tough for me, the rear down tubes would have to have exited the body. Think pro stock truck, just too ugly. It does have a roll bar though.

All of our cars have been street cars so this one is gonna be the drag car. More of a "damn that was a fun to watch" car than a "That is fast" car but it will be cool I think. Extend the nose, add a buick nailhead and some spoke front wheels. Id like to pull the fronts off the ground at the drags. Its the 3rd project in line though but im collecting parts!

Here's my work in progress. 53 Chevy pick up with a 3" chop. The bed has been raised a couple of inches and fenders raised on the bed an inch or so. It will eventually have a small block chevy with a set of Hilborn injectors sitting on top.

Wow, that A Sedan Delivery rocks. Are you going to leave it yellow? I see some paint ground away on the d/s door area.

I dont know about the trailered cars that are "street" cars but I think FlamedAbone ran an 11.49 in a car he drove from S.Carolina AND had a run in with a tractor/trailer. Very Impressive if you ask me.

I want to take it to a couple Friday night street drags up there and beat up on a few imports:D Show them what a "real" car sounds like! I think I will have to back the motor down a bit so I don't run quicker than 11.99 because I don't want to put a complete 6 point roll bar in.I don't like to look of the back bars going out the cab

I'd like to get more track time in with this, but it won't p*** tech without a top or roll bar.

Don't worry about backin it down too much, the IHRA rules allow you to go 11.49 before you need a cage. Let'er all hang out, I'll see ya there...

I think that it is a Kurtis Craft grill. The body used to be a luggage trailer. Thats why its so stubby and short.

I need advice on tuning predators for my blown BBC. If I can get it to run good enough, I will take it to Woodburn or PIR and see how it does.

I have driven it about 15 miles with this setup, the carbs are frustrating. I don't mind the surging or rough idle, but it stumbles pretty bad when the throttle is snapped open in high gear @ 2000 rpm. If you snap throttle open in 1st or 2nd, it just burns the street tires off, but that isn't really much help in tuning for a launch with slicks. I am sure a converter with higher stall would hide the problem, but then it would really **** to drive on the street.

Any help is appreciated, (switching to holley or demon is not an option)

    Specs:
    496 tall deck
Bowers 8-71 (15% under on the street, 20% over on the track)
Canfield 350 cc intake ports, 119 cc CNC chambers 2.30/1.90
    Solid Roller I:236/ E:246 114 LSA, about 620 lift
Predators with #5 cam's, accelerator pump @ maximum stroke
    7.95:1 TRW blower pistons
4340 crank, H-beam rods (bottom end should be good for about 7K rpm)
    6AL + BTM
    TH400 (tight 10.5" TCI converter)
    3.50 gear 9" with 33 spline axles & spool
28x10.50W ET Drags on the track
    BG220 pump @ 7 psi

Note: I plan on 4.30 or 4.56 gears & 4000 stall converter at the track, I also have DNE^2 crash box for this car, but only after I get it to drive decent with the auto.

I also plan on a getting a bigger, better blower (probably a stripped 10-71)

Note: with 15% under this setup only makes 4 psi

Also, anyone have a problem with 45" primary tubes? (2.125" primarys & 4"x10" collectors into 4" race mufflers)

Thanks, I am getting excited about it.
396, 10.75 to 1, Brodix heads, comp cams 292H, TH400 3500 stall, manual reverse valve body, with trans brake, 9" 4.11 posi. I didnt think I could go any bigger with CI or I wouldnt be able to keep it cool on the street. There is a big list of build pictures on my site listed in my signature.

Looks like a fun ride on the street!
Get rid of those Predators.....A buddy of mine tried for 3 years to make them work on his car and finally put a set of blower prepped Holley's on it and never looked back. I would keep the 8-71, Its big enough for your 496 and a stripped blower is useless on the street, the strips will be worn out in 15 miles
