Only 25 sets. But I'm working on the 26th :D

  3. I have been looking for a set of those silly things. They are hard to find in that size.

My car had a set of keystones on it with HR78-14 tires. A pair are unilug and a pair are not...does anyone know when they went unilug?

They went unilug in the early/mid 70s after they started making the second version.

The black styled one's look killer on 'Cuda's.

"1963." Wow, I didn't expect an actual year, but that'll work. Building my car to look '64 - '70ish.

I gave a set to my friend for her '65 Mustang fastback, she got redlines for em, looks real mean. Looked crap on my '58 Ranchero though.

  10. Here's an interesting article:
    http://www.roadsters.com/wheels/

"The most popular Ansen wheel was the Ansen Sprint, which was introduced in 1963.

The Sprint was the first "aluminum slot" wheel, being centrifugally cast, a technique seldom used in the wheel industry back then. They were produced on a tracer lathe and shipped in their natural, machined finish."

they are definitely a great muscle car/van wheel, but i think they look great on the coupe with the black wall pie crust tires.

  12. I had a set on my 64SS, and they looked OK. (I have a pic on the wall in my shop)
    Never been my favorite, though.

I'd say they are no more traditional than Cragar S/S or Supremes, but neither are Airbag's or BBC's. ;)

Not having the black paint makes all the difference in the world.

On Uni-lug kestones no, the bigger bolt pattern seats on outside of oval
    the smaller on inside

ok, i was told there is a washer to put in the groove, 2 different types so you could have 1 bolt pattern if you bought the center hole ones and another if you bought the offset hole ones

  20. Can't say that i agree with that, just put uni-lug keystones on my camino and i had to buy the lugs/washers from summit. They come with both offset/center hole washers and lugs that go through them. About $75 from summit.http://store.summitracing.com/partd...4294923107+4294922919+400292+115&autoview=sku

If they are early original unilugs they will be flat around the hole and you do not need the uni lug washers. If they are a later set or repop with a recess around the lug holes you will definately need the washers. I have a set of OG's on the front of my 64 Nova with round flat washers for extra grip and a set of repop's I had made with proper back spacing on the rear that require the oval washers. Through the hole lug nuts are also mandatory. I used a uni bit and champher tool to open up a set of OG lug nuts to accomadate the extra length of my lug bolts required for drag racing. Pep Boys carry all the different washers and lug nuts you will need to put those wheels on your car.

  24. I ran some of those back in the late 70's and really liked them as the plating was really good and everybody and their brother was running Cragars so it was cool to be a little bit different...always liked the looks of them and if the price is right pick 'em up and run them for awhile
