Just had to post this pic again. Seriously, I read somewhere that Hubert recently had open heart surgery but is doing fine.

  2. As far as I know Tony still has this car. He also ran it as a Super Stocker.

  3. Yes they can and do run tunnel
rams. In 2009 NHRA will allow 4speeds to replace 3speeds even in cars/engine combos that did not original have them.

  9. I was at the World Finals in Ontario Ca. the year the Grump brought out the first Vega. Pro Stock was way more cool back then.

  19. My dad has told me the first drag race he went to was on the straightaway of a dirt
track called Pamunckie or something like that in Maryland where she grew up. He said a guy there had a
brand new '55 chevy power back killing everything insight, even the modified flat heads. From that day on he was a small block guy.

    that's a classic!

  29. Ron Taylors car, this pic is a few years old. I made a set of pistons/rings for him after this picture was taken. With the new setup he became the first Super Stock Tri-5 to run in the tens. I believe 10.97 @ 122 or 23. His pal Randall Klein runs a 265 two 4bbl/glide 56 Nomad that hauls the mail. These guys turn these things 92-9600 you otta here em.

  30. Awesome! my grandparents started racing there and later at summerduck...too cool...
