I modified the firewall of my project car and it looks like hell, but it's solid, so I'm looking for someone in the area who can fabricate a stainless or aluminum cap to cover the eyesore. Might not be too hard to do with a sheet metal brake, but no gots.
Check your yellow pages for ornamental iron/welding shops-I was in one S.E. of Port Richey (possibly East of New Port Richey) while down there in the spring on a forced trip for the benefit of of my 90 year old Mom-in-law. I thought I would spend some idle time looking for somebody to bend some tube for me. Stumbled on this guy who is in a small shop in a strip industrial park (building) on a dead end street off the south side of (maybe) Ridge Rd. (Just west of a Florida State route that runs down thru the east side of Port Richey and New Port Richey.) Sorry I don't have a good map nor a better memory. This guy is an artist and can do all kinds of welding and forming and in the bargain he's a drag racer-has a pro street roadster in the shop. Hope this helps and that you hook up with this guy-I'm sure he can help you.
To follow up on this post I've got to say Myron Sr. does excellent work and there's probably nothing he can't do with sheet metal. Thanks to Rooster's Hot Rods for the heads up. Here's Myron (on right) and Kenny test fitting part of the firewall. Finished, just needs a little touch up around the edges:
