I love it. We're running an injected big block 67 Camaro we just finished restoring...

Wow, lets see, on the far outside, Jack Ditmars Der Mini Brute, The Chi-Town Hustler Cuda, your dad's Camaro and Ron Pelligrini's Hemi powered Buick. A idea that would be taboo today. I saw your dad's car at Irwindale when it was being promoted as a legitimate 200 MPH funny car. I ventured there to just see it eclipse the magical barrier. That put them in good standing with the match race promoters.

Has the Camaro stayed in the family this whole time? Very cool. I'm a little partial to Camaro funnies.

  10. It was Fiat's like this one, the original Pacers Topolino and several others that caused me to spend 47 years lusting over the little rodents. The one in my avatar will finally be on the strip in '09.

I posted this in the Topolino thread--can't remember if I put it here too. Grille looks wider than a Topo so does that make it a Simca?

  13. I know it's been a while since the original post...I built the fiberglass body for the recreation. In doing research, and talking with Cruz & Tony, there were at least 3 different bodies used over the years. I have several photos in my collection of one of them in red.
    1) Original car
    2) Rare photo of Frank without the Fiat body
    3) Tony P with the late Pat Foster at Pamona

Unfortunately no, it was sold to Dom Paris in '69 and is now owned by Don Francis, a dear friend who is doing/having the work done. He is hoping to have it finished next year, and make the nostalgia tour around the country. Especially the west coast. My uncle Joe who originally painted the car will do it once again.

Very, very cool pic for sure, I actually got to run at Warner Robbins before they closed it, I also heard that Gene was building another one like his old wagon. This is the coolest thread ever, thanks for posting!
