Yeah, when I turned around it was offset by about 40 ft.! Bounced across the road and hit a passing truck. I almost wish I'd been following behind, that must've been an impressive sight, to say the least.

 

So what broke? Does it still have the '57-style drop out rear in it? Did the four bearing retainer bolts fail, the bearing lock ring fail or ????

from what i can tell now....the rear housing got warped durring one of many weldings on it, slowly chewed up the bearing and retainer. i've been digging out pieces of retainer and i'm sure there are a few on old alabama road. It was a wild ride......about 40 feet on the backing plate....

 

That belongs to Bongo from the Tennessee PoorBoys chapter - this was his first road trip in it. He did all the lace and flake just last week.

What an amazing time! I'm glad the I can't wait for next year! I took WAY too many pictures, but this year I think most of mine were of people and they are so awesome...I spent a lot of time drankin'!!! Oh well!
