Thanks, Doug! At first, my idea was to incorporate the door locks as part of the entry system...after studying that contraption of a latch system, it proved to be a no-go....I think I will go back and shave the door locks, after all, when I fab the front and rear roll pans...relocating the filler tube and cap...now that's a project for another day!:D

Rob, shaving the door locks is probably a great idea. It may look a little funny without the handles. Keep us posted on the progress. Just don't paint it yellow :D

here is my take on what a falcon should look like, It is still a work in progress, I started with a 65 truck axle and narrowed it about three inches, cut out the front rails and towers then fabbed some beefier rails all the way to the rear rails, narrowed a nine inch rear and fabbed up some ladder bars, then topped it off with a 455 buick with a fabricated intake and headers.

    Doug,
You just don't know how prophetic that statement is! My son is 17, ready to drive (got his permanent license yesterday), and his favorite car colors are black and yellow! He's been hounding me all along to paint it gloss yellow...but, I'm not gonna do it! My '68 Dodge Dart is painted '76 Corvette yellow...and that one is enough yellow for me!:D

Your wheels look good. Where did you get them? What size are they? What size tires are you running? I know ... too many damn questions. :D

  13. Somebody must've taken my cue and bought it. I'm gonna try deleting all of that.

    Thanks,

My wheels are 14x6 smoothies from Summit Racing. It was a trick to find 4 lug, but they do carry them. And the front tires are 195/74R14 and the back are 205/75R14.

Impressive. Brings back memories. Our family had a white 66 2door hardtop that the old man bought new to take on his honeymoon - he still has it. Had the same blue interior. I was even showing him this thread this afternoon!

His was a 200ci 'super pursuit' but now has a 221. These engines were not that common down under and I believe they became even harder to find once the Holden boys found the crank was almost a drop in for one of their sixes and gave it a big stroke.

    Thanks !

Since the two door wagons never came with bucket seats, I wanted to create what would look like a 63 sprint interior. The correct seats and material. I added all the 63 dash trim, including the radio delete along with the sprint tach. It would have been nice to use the sprint wood grain wheel as well, but with IFS I really wanted a smaller wheel with a tilt column.

So im getting ready to add air bags on my '62 and i was wondering what would be easier, adding a fourlink or just connecting it to the suspension? Anybody have any suggestions?

  23. Remove all but the main leaf and place the bag between the axle and sub frame. Simple to do.

Would this work on a 64 falcon as well?

That will work on any leaf spring car technically, but I can't recommend it.
