Lets hear some haunted car stories again, its that time of year. The old thread was awesome and a blast to read, but it got closed. So lets hear some new stories of that creepy, haunted, or just plain weird spirited car of yours.

My previous car, a '54 Ford Customline, had issues with my wife, despite the fact that she liked the car. Every single time that she rode in that car, I would have either starting issues or carb flooding issues. When I drove it by myself, I had nary a problem. One time her door unlatched while we were driving--luckily, my wife always sat in the middle right next to me. I thought that was odd because that latch was new and I never had any issues before or after that incident. My wife started calling that car Christine...

  8. I worked with this guy that bought a car from another co-worker. He was told up front that some lady put a hex on the car and his wife for some wrong doing. Anyway, his wife wound up with a bunch of odd medical issues, but that's another story.

So they sold the car to my friend and he had real odd things happen with it. The engine blew for no reason, then the tranny went. I heard the car before that and it sounded fine. Then he was driving to work one morning and the driver's door fell off. I saw it in his trunk, the upper hinge snapped clean off.

Then he was driving on a rainy night going to another job. It was raining and he was on a fairly busy back road that had a lot of twists and turns. He told me that it felt like someone grabbed the steering wheel out of his hand and steered it across the line into the path of another car. He was ejected from the car out the windshield and woke up in the hospital the next day.

In 1982 I purchased a clean 61 Coupe De Ville from an elderly gentleman in <ST1:p<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com[IMG]Palm Springs</st1:City></ST1:p. Being the desert car that it was it was real clean and rust free but had a sandblasted windshield. I brought it home and parked it in the garage. About a month after I bought it Guillermo my Panamanian gardener was furiously knocking at my door. He explained to me that he was in the garage to borrow my hedge clippers and that when he turned on the light and stood in just the right place he could see an image of the Virgin Mary in the sandblasted Caddy windshield. I laughed it off and thought nothing of it. Guilermo could not contain himself and soon word of his discovery spread throughout the Central/South American immigrant community. Pretty soon I had people knocking at my door at all hours to see the car. I figured what the hell why don&#8217;t I start charging 10 bucks a head to see the &#8220;Virgin Mary Cadillac&#8221;. This got way bigger than I ever imagined and there were people lined up for blocks for a month or so to see the car. All went well and the cash was pouring in until one night when I was closing up shop. I slammed the garage door shut and then I heard a loud crash from inside the garage. DAMM!!! a box had fallen out of the rafters and fallen breaking the windshield of the Caddy. Obviously a message from the heavens. So I took the $182,000.00 that I made and went to Boyd&#8217;s shop and bought brand new pink and turquoise Boydster and then to the Pontiac</ST1:p</st1:City> dealer and bought a new Trans Am with the big chicken decal on the hood. With the money I had left I bought some gold chains and a Rolex. All was well until about six months later I was contacted by the IRS wanting to collect taxes on the $182,000.00 I made. Obviously another message from the heavens. So to avoid jail I sold the Boydster, the Trans Am and the jewelry at a great loss to pay the taxman. What a bitter experience!!!
So now I don&#8217;t even mess with haunted cars. Aren&#8217;t you sorry you asked??

I would believe in ghosts way before before any religion!

I love the HAMB, but damn, some people need to lighten up!!

It's almost Halloween, as long as its car related - on with the stories!

  18. BZZZZT Wrong, belief in ghosts is not a religious thing. The church denys the existence of ghosts as they are thought of in this sense.

Ok heres one for yah my buddy just bought a 69 nova project car its all together but kinda rough. We got there to pick it up and it was raining prety good it had a battery and it was a runner/driver so we try to start it.... nothing tryed the headlights nothing dead as dead can be tryed messing with the wires nada tryed jumping it and my car died. So we decided we would hook it up to my car and I would tow it to our shop hook it up and get her ready when the radio comes on the door was locked and we heard Phil Collins Take me home it stayed on just long enough for us to hear it and see that it was on then it went dead. After we got it home tryed a battery pulled from my car nothing started looking at wires and the main battery cable on the positive side was fried and hanging down..

  20. Not a HAMB car, but haunted, anyway. Had a '70 Dart Swinger with a 340 and a 3-speed manual, plum crazy purple (in primer at the time), with only a heater and radio as options - a true stripped-down factory muscle car! I could jump in and drive it anytime, anywhere, and it ran like a top! My wife (then, she was my GF) would go to drive it, and it would quit on her, or refuse to start, or just be a PITA for her to drive! She says that one day, she felt a cold hand on her shoulder while she was driving it, and then the car just quit on her! I went to get her and the car. She drove my pickup home. I drove the Dart home without any problems at all! After that, she was pretty insistent that I sell the car if she was going to stick around!

Sold the car the next week.

Not haunted but this little truck had a mind of it's own. Years ago back around 1945 my parents owned a '35 Chevy pickup that seemed to always stall on the tracks at a railroad crossing or in an underpass. It would not stall anywher else. Mom hated that truck and dad finally got rid of it. I was in it one day when it stopped in an underpass in Houston. I asked what's wrong and mom told me about the truck. She was not a happy camper.
    Peace,

I drove my 49 Fleetline back in highschool. Only when my wife(GF at the time) was riding with me, the passenger door would open if I made a left hand turn. Never did it with just me in the car and would do even if it was locked.

I don't know if one of my '57's was haunted, but it sure did hate me...I purchased it minus engine/tranny in about 1966...it was an old drag racer (C/MP)...I built it as a street car -327, 4-speed, roll bar, tilt front...but every time I took it out for a drive, something happened to it... freeze plugs fell out (and I'd rebuilt the engine), clutch fork broke many times, front wheel fell off, always overheating altho I'd redone the rad - not once but several times, speedometer cable would break, tach would work intermittently, Hurst shifter would simply "freeze" and not shift and one time, while I was in the garage working on the tilt hood metal framework with a torch, the damn gas line rubber hose sprung a leak, got ignited and I had to push the car outside into the snow to keep it from burning itself, and the garage up.

I sold the car after owing it for three years and putting less than 500 miles on it.

    Saw this one on TV:

In a one-shot kind of deal, they showed the powder on the back, and the hand prints really were there!

Ghostly Kids Push You Off Train Tracks

Urban Legend: The protective ghosts of little children killed at a railway crossing push stalled cars off the tracks.

    The Story:
This one is actually true. It's been talked about on many TV stations including an Los Angeles, California station by "The Earth Man" Garcia. It has to do with a school bus full of children that had stalled on some train tracks in San Antonio, Texas. A train was coming and was going too fast to stop in time to get the bus off the tracks. The bus was hit and all of the children died. It was a great tragedy. The tracks are located on a curve in the road but the tracks are on a small up-hill grade to both sides.

If you stop your car just on the tracks and put it in neutral, it will slowly start to roll over the little hill and down the other side.

A local Los Angeles, California station sent a crew there to check it out and it was done on tape, with a San Antonio sheriff present. The cars back end was cleaned off of any finger prints before the test was done and after it was done it was dusted for prints. Several small hand prints and finger prints showed up on the bumper, showing that the small hands of the ghost children were pushing the car to get it off the tracks.

There are also claims that this is nothing more than a gravity anomaly allowing a non-moving vehicle to move over a small up-grade. But no one can explain away the hand and finger prints.

    Origins:
This is one legend that may possibly be true. We have received many, many e-mails verifying that this one is real.

Did a welding job on a seventies Malibu, and commented on how it had been crunched pretty bad at one time. The guy said, "yeah,it was pretty bad, my first wife was killed in it, but I really like the car." (this was thirty years later.) Oh well.
