After driving coast to coast and over 7000 miles to try and sell the 1941 Ford Dick Dean built it will now be going to the London Motors Museum in London England. I would have liked to see it stay here but no one would come up with the cash. lots of beautiful trades offered but I need cash to finish up other projects, you all know how that goes. The guy actually bought it and my 1956 buick as a packaged deal which worked for me.
So now I need to finish my 60 Olds.

I went to Dick Deans shop years ago. He was a real character and built some really cool cars, but this 41 was not one of his best in my eyes and see no pity in it going abroad.

humm, yea, that car has the right idea but something isn't right about it. Like it's on a monte carlo chassis or something...

  4. I see NO pity in ANY car going abroad! This site has a thing called "spreading the gospell.....worldwide"? You do know that Ryans inspiration came from FRANCE!!??!?!?! BTW, your Redwing boots were made in China in case you want to throw stones.....

If some guy from Lower Slovania pays me, I hope he enjoys it as much as I did. A hot rodder is the same the world over. Hell, you sell it here and some ding dong would paint it pink, raise the roof and give it 26's! Would that make you happy then?

But obviously the $$$ meant more than the noble principle of keeping it this side of the pond, otherwise you would have waited to sell it to someone in North America, no? And now you post about how sad it is that it should go overseas - something you knew when you took payment.

Funny that - how principles go out of the window when it comes to money.

  12. Ratty,

is it the guy with the 'storage' place that used to be at the old West Ruislip Base? The 'donk' guy?

  13. Elo.....is his name....builds piles of blingy shit for overpaid footballers, brings in and builds lowriders as well...and if you were at the last Xtreme wheels show you would have seen the rusty bags of shyte all breakdown as the hydrualics failed on each car......he runs the "museum" which is actualy just storage for a bunch of yank motors and charges £10 to go and look at them. A lot of the cars are forsale at well over the top prices that Elo values the cars at....he's not got a good name!!!!!

I'm also curious about that front end... did this thing undergo a chassis swap, or independent that's just too wide?

Front track too wide and large wheel openings added to clear tires? I like radiused wheel openings but I like them to be on the rear of the car and preferably on a gasser..:D

    Really? First I've heard.

We love it when a UK built hot rod goes across the pond to the USA, sorta like showing you guys how to REALLY build 'em. :)

There's a car I wanna buy from England, I have to formulate a plan, but I don't know how, the economy is down the shitter, now is not the time to be going into debt over a dream......the memory is probably better anyway.

Thats the man , had the cheek to call is shed full of overpriced turds the London Motor Museum . The guy tried to get me to buy a '64 Lincoln drophead off him for £12k , when I pointed out that the panel that hides the roof when its dropped was stuck down with bondo and gaffa tape (Amongst many other issues) he told me that thats how they came from the factory and it was too cool a car to have a roof ! And then he offered me £1500 for my '58 Edsel (Sorry) which I'd driven down there in as a P/X on the understanding that he'd seen it already and valued it at £4k . The man's a cock .

But hey , thats only my opinion and plenty reckon I'm a cock too ;)

What's funny here is he bought the car from a friend of mine about 6 months ago only to sell it and make money on it.
I think he paid 13G for it

:D a32flathead says the guys a dork and I trust his judgement, the guy has to be a big timeDORK. I've seen this car many times and it's true it wasn't one of Dick Dean's best. It's not where the car goes that matters, it's the quality of the buyer. In this case money talks and bull shit walks. My old T sedan ended up in Japan for the same reason in this thread.
