some where in my memory I recall an article about this car in an old car mag, and that it was built for David Lee Roth of Van Halen ,

I heard that Sir Elton John has his eyes on it and is thinking of making a piano out of it.

Ratty, no need to apologise for a '58 Edsel.

This thread is picking up a bit of a following....

  11. Many years ago I was at the run to the sun in Havasu and I believe that car was there but it was pink and called the pink flamingo. Ironically it was framed by the London Bridge in the background how funny. Rags

The pound dollar exchange rate is going the right way at the moment for you to buy it. $1.76 = £1 last time I looked, which is good for me as I get paid in US$ but live in the UK. :D

Yes, the one for DLR was Harold Saul's old '51 Merc, David Lee bought it and Dean and Sons did the chassis change on it, cuz MTV bet David he couldn't make it from LA to New York in 4 days or so in that car, we swapped it over and he won the bet! haha! it can also be seen in the "Panama" video. As for this car, Dean always took chances with his builds that's how you get a name as big as his, by breaking out of the normal mold I see today from most. Maybe this one didn't work, but he did something different and some like it and others hate it .... You never know with any kustom, So keep being innovators! :D
