sure did, thanks for the heads up.

I am proud to own three gasser style cars and quite a few that are from "the Day"

I do this as part of my business, and racing them is naturally a business expense...great advertising! go to www.topnotchvehicles.com and click on Bob's Classics. You can check them out. Comments encouraged.

Those pics are so cool I had Oddys car for awhile and put it on the street back in 1976 and when I sold it I bought your old Morris Van and drove the wheels off it .

I am trying to find pictures of them all to put in here but in the last ten years I've unearthed a few...
    1. 1949 Ford (the Outer Limits) from an airplane hanger in New Jersey.
    2. 1964 Plymouth Valiant (The Orange Crate)
    3. 1961 Corvair (with a 426 hemi)
    4. 1959 F100 with a 66 galaxie 390 from a junkyard in North Carolina
    5. 1967 Fiberfab Jamaican on a 59 corvette chassis (garage in Detroit)
    6. 1971 Gremlin with a 401 that won the winternationals in Indy (trailer park in Arizona
    7. 1971 Gremlin with a 304 that raced in Detroit (garage in Detroit)
    8. 1956 Studebaker with a Hilborn Injected 322 nailhead (I can't remember where I found this)
    9. 1968 Cougar GT-E drag car (on a farm near my house when I was in college)
    10. 1964 LaDawri Daytona drag car from Northern Indiana
    11. 1969 Triumph GT6 SBC drag car (Missouri)
    12. 1966 Ford Fairlane straight axle drag car from 1971 (Arkansas)
    13. 1962 Ford Econoline Drag Truck (shelbyville Indiana)
    14. 1966 Ford Fairlane Holman Moody ARCA car with a 427 (Louisville)
    15. 1940's bonneville bellytanker chassis and V8-60 (a field in Illinois)
    16. A Bantam body from an old drag car that somebody here on the HAMB actually built back into a car as I recall...
    17. Altered wheelbase 1957 Ford (not a find as I bought it from Vintakes)
    18. Chopped 36 Ford 5 window sbc from Columbus Ohio
    19. Not a gasser but the earliest "race car" I found was a 1917 Ford with FULL banger race goodies that was a hot rod in the 30's and 40's. I think it's in Michigan now.
    20. The 67 VW Bug (the Lightning Bug) with a sbc and 4 speed from the 60's) Colorado
    21. 1950 Ford with a 392 hemi and straight axle from Arkansas

And of course the faux gasser, the Glasser Gasser 1954 Ford
The best find of all was the Turbonique 1000HP Drag Axle from Florida that I wish I could have kept but it went to a better home. I found three of them and one is still there but it's damaged. He'll sell it someday...

There is a PERFECT 66 GTO street freak with chicago drag history that hasn't seen the light of day since 1971 here in Indy and it's got a killer psychedelic paint job on it. It's just sitting...Someday....

There are still so many out there. I found about ten killer old cars in a barn 10 miles from my house this summer. All still there waiting for me to have money. Several 1950's hot rods untouched but the barn hasn't been kind. I hate to leave them sitting in there but what do you do...

O.K., we all know that cars without fenders are altereds, right? And VW's with front motors fall into the altered catagory too. But we're just bud's here and having fun, so I'll go with it too. I've posted this on the fx thread before but for my gasser bud's, here's mine... was a '65 Dart; don't like '65 front end, so made it a '66. steretched the nose 12", made my own carbon fiber fenders, will do all body panels in carbon before its done. Gonna run a Hilborn or 6:61 max wedge. I'd llike to find a cheap '64 Plymouth Valient to do a real gasser, with a small block and 4 speed. (After this is done!)

Someone mentioned Oddy's old car so I thought that I would throw up the pic that I took of it this past summer. My parents know the guy that is restoring it... they used to be in the group around buffalo, NY (We're also friends with Dick Collins, Bob Sarkasian, and others from the group, if anyone knows them) along with him and many others... anyway, this is the only pic I have, John is doing a great job with it... its been at a standstill for a couple years though... at least from what I've seen. But it was at least rolled down the track in lancaster, NY this past summer. I have a lot more pics from this event, but since my camera was stolen this is the only one I have of his car.

Another with his car in the background. There were tons of beautiful gassers at that show including the highest revving car I have heard, haha (Gene Schwartz car). Anyway, here's one with the Oddy Austin behind the Kohler Bros. car...

Carlos is doing a great job on Kong as John is on Oddys car.

Man I wish I had ALL the willys, austins and anglias that we played with back then NOW:D:cool::eek: Ron...
