  1. I like this thread better than the one about 1960's F trucks. Takes all kinds I guess, but this stuff is a real treat and truly inspirational on many levels.

Sometimes it takes a lot of searching and time to come up with a complete set of wheels and hubs. I have been putting together a set of Dayton wires so far it has been almost 8 yrs and I still need one more hub. I am a member of the T club along with some other antinque car clubs They have been the best way for me to find some of the hard to find early stuff.
Usally a decent complete set of early wires will cost several thousands to get as a set. I have luck up a few times and have bought cars that already had them on it.
A good source for identifieing some of the stuff is to find a reprint or original accessory parts catalogue. Most have good pictures.

I wouldn't! I saw it when Crazy Chris owned it, took lots of photos too. That is one great piece of auto racing history, car and hauler have been together since the last race. Back in the day all the chassis parts were polished steel, no chrome or nickel, just polished. When found it had TWO spare DO Fronty heads stored inder the race car. The hauler is rocker arm Fronty powered.

Just returned from Hershey with a pair of the aluminum spacers you need to use with the Chevy disk to Ford hub conversion. I'll post photos later once I get them unpacked. Also found out that the front hubs on a cutdown Midget axle I have may be Chevy hubs on the Chevy spindles that were adapted to the Ford axle, I'll post those photos too. :)

Gas4blood any better pictures of your Speedster? On Gas4blood speedster the headlight bar is a 27 T modified for the overland lights, The headlights are 1914-1917 Overland. the grill shell and hood is 26-27 T. the front axle is 25 or olderT 26-27 spring. the front fenders are 23-25, the upper and lower windshield is 26-27 T open car, front apron is 26-27, horn is A model

I can get better pics. The car is a bit surrounded by other junk right now. The lights are Gray and Davis. They are huge! I wish they were the yoke mount '14-'15 Ford, but they aren't. I have a '14 build 1915 Coupelet that the earlier type would look good on. The rear axle is '26-'27 with the big brakes. While the wheels are all off an Overland, the makers are different from front to back. Photos will be addes later today.

  10. 37kid,

Please do post those spacers! Wish I could've been there to pick up a set, but my wagon flipped on the way to pick up Brad54... hopefully I can make Hershey NEXT year!

Last time I saw that sprinter it was still on the T truck hauler. It now belongs to Ron Kipling in Kent,WA. A real piece of history.

I spoke to a guy in Wichita who said his buddy in town had a twin engine T a couple years ago. I got pretty creeped out by the guy:confused: so never went to check it out.

Thought I'd share here also,... in case the other post gets lost in the shuffle.

Here's a few photos I picked up. Supposedly were from either PA or NJ as I was told buy the guy I bought them from. They were taken at some type of fairgrounds by the looks of everything in the backgrounds and the photo of the "Dangler" ride!

This one fits a stock Model T frame and hopefully will be raced up the Newport Hill next year.
Toms glass is like nothing i have ever seen!! very consistant smooth and damn near ready to paint as recieved.
