Just curious, but how does that trailer pull in your '60 Cadillac?

I've never pulled anything with mine, and wondered what the experience would be like.

i haven't tried with the Cadillac, but it would pull it just fine-- just would have to build a hitch... which i wont do on the Cadillac as it's too pretty for a hitch :-D

Although they are too pretty for a hitch, it didn't stop me from taking a very special 5 minutes to contemplate the super-rare factory accessory hitch (unused) I saw on eBay a few months back... :D

Hey Scott....nice little combo ya got there.
We're (the wif & I) really into teardrops bigtyme. We have a Lonely Teardrop, and we use the crap outta it. there are a bunch of teardrop gatherings and groups out there.

We're members of the TearJerkers, which is a nationwide club. they have gatherings all year round, all over the country.
Another thing to serch on is Vintage Vacations. this is another group dedicated to these older campers.

Here's a pic of my panel truck and our teardrop. (I've restored the teardrop since this pic.)

Great looking set-up. We have a 1953 silver streak that we have had for about 2 years. Now that our kids are a little bigger we plan on taking trip the way yall did. Just a slower way to LIVE!

  12. Looks like good times Scott! A real family bonding type experience. Reminds me of the family station wagon camping trips from my childhood. We used tents.

Thanks for sharing this cool adventure!! Love those trailers, it was fun seeing the interiors in some of them as well. I am sure youknow about the trailer motel in Bixby Arizona that uses vintage trailers. I have supplied a lot of stuff to some people re-doing these, bark cloth fabric(like your table seat cushions), lamps, kitchy dishes, glassware, etc. Very relaxing just viewing your pix. ~Sololobo~

Thanks for the photos Scot, very cool rig. You're not alone, there are LOTS of folks pulling vintage trailers with Rods. We're in the Tin Can Tourists, a group re-invented by a guy from here in Michigan, Forrest Bone and his wife Jeri. Check out their website, just google Tin Can Tourists. Thousands of photos and ralley info.

The group hosts several vintage trailer "rallys" during the year, all over the country, and they're great fun. Like car shows, only fun :D:rolleyes:! We look forward to the spring and fall events in Milford, at Camp Dearborn, in the spring and fall, in addition to using our rig as our RV during the summer as often as we can. We also drag the trailer to cruise nights and the few car shows we go to during the summer as well.

Here's some photos of the some of this years outings, the Pontiac woody and big old Spartan trailer are ours. Great fun:) !
