I was digging through gasser madness this morning and came up on this photo of and "unidentified Willys" at Bakersfield in '66, guess who.., TEX!

That's George's Catalina tow vehicle to the right, and the primered front end is due to an unfortunate testing incident involving a grape post.......

A truly authentic re-build and a fantastic result!
I feel somewhat like I was there watching it all come together thanks to Royalshifter and the HAMB.

 

Pretty hard slam criticizing my Dad here you well knowing it was already a street rod when he bought it and we painted it this way long before any one cared about restoring old race cars. One thing I can tell you is my dad probably put close to 75,000 street miles on it in the many years he owned it, that car never saw a trailer until it went out west. Yes it was slightly worn out but that's becaused it was used as a car should be, it was driven.

 

GREAT Job on the restoration of the Teixeira Willys. Love them old Gassers. You guys did a fine job, the car looks GREAT and I'm sure Fred is very pround of your efforts.

 

As it has already been stated, photographs don't do the restored "TEIXEIRA III" Willys justice ... you really do need to see it in person!
