Check out Evan Seinfelds 29/29 sedan, he took off his cool lookin whitewalls and replaced them with 15" wide meats, it was in an ol' kool rods magazine a year or two ago.

Edit.. found some pics for u.. you asked!!!

TK without being unkind, the only thing I can say is that the majority of folks here aren't into "wide" unless it is a whitewall. Even the period correct g***ers only run an eight or ten inch tire on the back.
For most of us an 8.20-15 is a really wide tire.

Ok here, this one isn't HAMB friendly in the least even though it is a 48 Chev pickup or that is what the ch***is goes to.

My running buddy has a thing for very wide tires.

    I LIKE these two!
As for the Pre'64 Stasi- stink**** rear tires are just as traditional as some fat tattoed nappy stripper snail tracking all over a car, but you see that **** all the time don't you? Take a chill pill.

    Here's some I had.
But bigger isn't always better. 1/8th mile time with these was around 8.00, spun a LOT. Best 1/8th mile time with 14X32 slicks was 7.48. Best 1/8th mile time with 10.5X30 was 7.25.

In My opinion, the PERFECT look for a Top...(with the exception of all the nonsense going on underneath)

remember, These cars are half the size of most cars out there. To big of a tire is going to look wrong. White walls would look great! 15x10 rim, 29" tall tire with 10 or 11" tread would look good. Here's a couple pic's. I couldn't find any with white walls and the tires are bigger than I would like, but there still neat.

Hope I don't offend anyone, but as far as I'm concerned, this is another area where it should be the choice of the owner/builder/buyer. Yes I'm including buyer cause not everyone has the skills, talent, tools, equipment, and shop to build it themselves but may and often do have a talent for earning money. Lot's of them have WAY more talent than I in that area!
Take me for instance, I have at least some of the requirements to build myself, and and have done so in the past, and I'm doing so now (or at least trying). But since I'll be 71 next month and don't have the years to spare or the energy left to build from all gennie tin and parts, I started with a Brookville rolling ch***is and body purchased with money saved from a lifetime of hard work and gathering tools, equipment, etc. The guys and gals I've met around the ATL area that are HAMBers seem to understand this and accept it, and me.
So if they're car guys and girls, why should we freeze them out just because they like wide tires?
I'm not enough of a historian to remember which one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence said it, but it's applicable here. "If we don't all hang together, most ***uredly we shall all hang together".
And the same applies to all the different factions of car enthusiasts.
