    Here's a quicky...

  6. Its considered acceptable, but only if use a really early version of Photoshop and a black and white monitor. Having CS4 is considered "goldchainer".

Well it will be quite some body work to get it just right. The flow of the top is really important. You dont want it to be to boxy, and you also dont want it to be a smooth as the Matranga Merc. since that wont go to well with the rest of the body shapes.

Here is my version. I made the top a bit longer to get better proportions... and there are a lot of subtile modifications to the top to get it right.

And a version with the running boards removed...

A chop on that car, or photoshop? I mean PhotoChop?
Are you Kidding me!! I remember cutting cars out of magazines and chopping and lowering with a zacto knife.
Do a search.Rikster here has done a grip of amazing stuff...my favorite is the three window 49Merc. please repost it.

I see you got rid of the running boards and traded them for a set of single bar spinners!
I just realized those where the artillery wheels/tires I needed for Zman's 38. Funny how photoparts turn up when your building. I'll get to it tomorrow,

Can somebody lose the people in this pic for me............

  12. One things for sure, the `36 hardtop will be hard to get right. I have a feeling you´ll have too fight the roof every step! Not sure how sucessful this is, but I´ll throw it out there anyway...

There are some really good photoshoppers on here. Would anyone mind giving me a gold and white/ivory watson style job on the 37 with some hubcaps to match?

JamesD.. I got inspired by this 35-36 %-window coupe into Hard-Top project...
And your side view made me want to try a few more things.
I always feel that the top point of the roof should be in the front of the car so I re-chopped the top a little. And moved the whole top a bit more to the back. Giving it a little less flow at the back. I also leaned back the windshield slightly and made the doors longer to give better proportions to the side window frames. I also modified the lower front of the door window opening a bit to look more like a Cabriolet.

  18. Thats really nice Rik! I was hoping you´d chip in on this.

The only thing I didn´t want to do was stretch the doors, because that takes it to another level of difficulty of construction, but I have to say it looks very, very good.

What about shortening the top a little, instead of lengthening the doors?

I dont think that would work. Then you would have the top being to far to the front of the body. It would be out of balance.
A set of coupe or two door sedan doors would do the trick.

    Klazurfer, I love the Cords. Here's something a little European, a custom-bodied Alfa 2300, re-custom-bodied.

Thanks twochops. I was so wrapped up in getting what I thought was a really cool shot of Back Seat Betty that I didn't even notice the people and stroller in the background.

Tom and klazurfer those are some really nice designs. I love those late 30's early 40's teardrop shapes a LOT.

Wow, I like that one, great colour combo. Very unique, I like that, not just your everyday paint scheme. Your photoshop efforts are great Rikster, nice and realisitc looking. Great stuff.

  25. I enthusiastically agree!

  26. Yep, this one's flat out killer! IMHO.

Wow....there are some amazingly talented folk on here!
Wonder what you guys can come up with on my Aussie DeSoto.
I was thinking of a good beating with the lowering stick, wide whitewalls, grey or white metalflake roof and a maroon or burgundy body and some mild scalloping.
Your help in advance is very much appreciated!

    LoSoto,

I think you have a better change of some photoshopped designs for your car if you can post a photo of the car where the body is not in the shadow as much. I have to agree the back ground is awesome... but the car is just to dark to work with properly.
