I agree. but take the next step...scuff it with scotchbrite, compressed air and tack cloth to remove dust, tape it off, rattle can matte clear...couple coats. offers protection, a tiny sheen and it will save the steel. Then drive the hell out of it until you decide which way to go. Learn it's character.

I think he was just showing an example of the type of paint he was talking about....
The patina you have now is pretty cool....but do that baby justice and give her a coat of paint!:)

If I may add my .02 cents..
I love the patina your truck processes.
Once you paint it it hard to bring back the ' true grit ' of your truck,,
...hell that patina IS your trucks Heritage. Be proud...!!!
There ARE days I miss mine.

Real paint please, and not flat black or the patina stuff, real shinny good looking paint. That's my worthless vote anyway.

Shiny paint. Ivory, or cream, body and bed (with navy-blue dual pinstriped lines along beads). Firetruck RED fenders (with ivory pin-striping). Interior same blue as pinstripes, and cigar brown leather seat covers. Paint the top big-flake metal flake silver (as in Little Daddy Roth flakes) to match visor. Gold plate grill and add sombrero caps. Grin big. Say cheese.

  13. Paint only the back half. Make it look just like the front half.
That way it looks like an aged truck, not a cobbled truck.

  14. Don't listen to any of us critics.

Paint it, and have some balls.

How about a cream white on the body with a GOLD on the fenders? Very late '50s style.. it would be awesome.

Anything but flat black. Maybe a newer paint that is close to the original blue. Paint the accesories white and pinstripe in white also. Stance looks good, I wouldn't lower it anymore. Did I miss the build thread or info?
