Looks really cool. Are you going to get them all running or just the two end carbs?

  6. Ok, looks interesting. I haven't seen that before. Two Vintage Speed adapters on a 2x4 intake?

  7. Is that a close coupled Offy 2x4? if so I have a bunch of 4360s for sale. :)

A lot of time and money to get, what, 600 CFM?
Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should do it.
All that aside, in a hoodless rod it would look wild!

Most everbody knows a single four barrel performs better than most multiple carb setups on the street but hauling ass isnt what rodding is all about. Got to have the eye candy and that is sweeeeeet

vote #2 for removing the black rubber line and cutting it up into little pieces then burning the little pieces.

Some polished stainless hardline would look cool all running into a fuel log.

  13. Looking from here, I see only the end carbs hooked up for fuel.

Were the pics shot partway through the install or are do you have the two center carbs blocked off?

Looks cool, I can see where walking by would make you do a double take.

I'd argue the multi-carb bit on the street.
Seen more than a few that were good runners.

Granted, one carb is easier to tune than two, but if you can tune one, surely you can tune two....

Four clear red fuel lines to a block on the firewall.

yeah, if you're only runnning the outer two carbs then mock the middle two up to look like they're hooked up. Put some JB weld in the fuel nipples (then if you ever wantto run them just remove the nipples) on the carbs your not running and run your lines to them. that way it will look even more bitchin.
    Pretty cool-

Others on here have spent even more time and money to get "only" 600 CFM.

I like it..My thinking is hot rodding is being different, build what you want. If you run all four, I would progress the linkage..The two center ones primary and the outer two as secondaries..That SBC will take all the air/fuel after about 1200 RPMs and that is when the secondaries could open..
I like being different..Your set-up will work just fine when all is adjusted..
    Duane..
    ps..Stromberg 97s would look great..

I think this is one setup we'd see in the "speed stuff that didn't work" thread. It looks cool though.

That looks cool.....and linkage setup should be pretty easy too.....even progressively.

    I've seen 2x2 adapters used on 2x4 crossrams.....now that's wild.

  25. Looks awesome!! Been collecting to do this exact thing on my A-V8.
Hats off to you for pulling it off.
You gotta hook up all the carbs and tune it. Lil trick I learned from Art Chrisman is to only run accelorater pumps on two carbs.
Anyone running only a couple of carbs on a multi setup is a ghey poser:D

Thanks for all the response. And yes they are all hooked up progressive, the 2nd and 4th are linked, then kicks in the 1st, then the 4th. I have all new fuel lines now so don't worry about that mock up mickey mouse garbage. The adapters are eelco, and I went with them because they set the two carbs closer than the vintage speed ones. I had to use 2" spacers also to get over the distributer, I had to wack of the front screw off the 3rd carb, and grind away the back off the 2nd, grind some off the ditributer cap, and off the back off the adapter.
After doing all that, an offset mag would of been a lot easier, but expensive.
So when you hear vintage speed advertise you can do this with there adapters, there FULL OF IT!!!

Yep! One of Dickster's set ups on this would be the meow of the cat that ate the HAMB shirt!

Damned right they are. The more hybrids and electric cars there are the more gas will be left for us.
