The cameraman didn't even see it coming as he was more concerned with capturing the images in front of him.

I always wondered if this was a single frame taken from another TV camera angle just before the block hit him or if it was just a photographer that pressed the shutter at just the right time. -Any later and the scene would have been a bit too gorey for the sports pages.

I don't remember another TV Camera up high that day. I was across the track and you could about draw a line fron me to the blower to the cameraman in the pic. He was off that stand real fast, like the blink of an eye and he was gone.

That lake also cost me wheel bearing failures last year.
    Here are 3 pictures.

That is Steve Coonan from TRJ on the back taking pics. I can't remember the passanger's name but he was from down under I think.

If it's ever that bad again, I will find a way to go around.

If he came with Steve, it was probably Geoff Miles.

Nope, I know Geoff, it was a guy I met in Bobby Green's Pit, he rode into town with me to get some ice and some grocery's.

I think he was from out east.

I can relate. From last year I now have a fuzzy alternator. The front wheel bearing on the RV went and I now have rusted in caliper bolts that won't move (probably not even for God!). I didn't go this year (gas costs) but I heard they filled in the lake.

Wow I didn't know you could still get that stuff.

  12. I'm in love.

  13. I would not call this a cool picture to post. Frank Rupert lost the lower part of his leg in the crash, and was lucky to survive. The cameraman was not as lucky and die seconds after this photo was taken.

  19. That' what I did. Each time I just pulled off to the south of "the end of the road" and went out and around. People acted like I was a moron, but there was no way I was driving through that.

    Epitome of cool.....

This real 33 willys at lebanon valley dragway. I took these pics right at the top of the staging lanes last year (september '07).

The international I saw this spring while driving up to a job in bristol, VT. Real cool truck with a build not often seen in my "parts"
