Let me add my name to the ever growing list as well. Here's some old pics of an "A" sedan I'm working on. I'd like to do this in Texas Longhorn colors - Orange and White, but am unsure of where to cut up the colors. Open to any and all ideas.

  8. Finally got to tinker around on this Falcon a bit. It's a bit rough so don't look too close, and think of the paint job as "suede".

I know I went a little nuts with the doors and I have a temporary fixation with Sunliner roofs but that will pass soon enough. That style of mag wheel looks pretty good on it though.

For those of you just getting started with PhotoShop, these might save you some time and frustration. If you want to undo your last action, try Ctrl+Z on your keyboard. It's quicker than dragging the cursor up to the tool bar. Undo multiple actions with Ctrl+Alt+Z. Want to quickly change the size of the eraser, airbrush or some other tool? Use the open bracket ([) key to go smaller or the close bracket (]) for larger. After a while you'll get hooked using some of these keyboard shortcuts.

I know how you feel - TBH I would just do the ones you feel like doing, and do them because you have fun doing them. If it becomes "work", then leave it for someone else.

James D ---- the beautiful photoshop you did on converting a
4 door woody wagon onto a convertible would be next to impossible
to improve on. But the 4 door had room for improvement.

A few tips for a really good photochop:

1 - be careful not to oversaturate color changes. if the color looks too disney and the rest of the photo doesn't match, it doesn't look real. and vice versa. control the saturation by playing with the middle saturation bar which comes up when you press CMD (Ctrl) + U.

2 - same with the type of light. if the light is too contrasty in relation to everything else in the picture, it won't look right either. use Levels (CMD + L) or Curves (CMD + M) to fine tune your layers.

3 - to make pinstripes actually look like pinstripes, knock down the opacity of the layer until it looks right.

I want to build a hood for the modified! same color as the cowl and grill shell. loose the scoop, keep the pipes.

And do whatever else you think I could actually do to improve the look. I would like to do frame covers along the side to elongate the look of the lower part of the body.

I think you are on the right track with a hood and sides. Maybe a belly pan would be a good way to get some depth into the body. I did wonder about black steel wheels and caps for a more od timey look, but I kind of like what you have actually. I might look out for a Model T fuel tank to replace that aluminium one though. Great little car!

that looks awesome. Feel free to play around with it as much as you like. I like the belly pan but the grill shell sits between the frame rails so It couldnt turn out that smooth. I think I would have to make a speed bubble or scoop in the side pan to let the pan out with style.

  24. could some one put a tail dragger stance on this pic off my morris minor perhaps recolour it black with some gold steel wheels and whitewalls and put some spotlights on the cowl oh and could you try to remove the tail lights

    thanks in advance

  25. D'OH!!! Boy, is my face red! If I wanted a Sunliner roof I'd of just cut it off and got rid of it! Maybe I'm getting over my Starliner fixation already.:confused:

    Rickster,

Thanks! I do like them both especially the second one, but I know I don't have the skills to pull that one off and doubt I have the bucks to pay someone to do it. I do like the shiney paint and the reference to semi-gloss or flat was more as an interem step as the paint on the car is pretty much dead now and does not look nearly as good as the picture. Still working on the mechanicals so not ready to do all the needed body work to replace the rockers etc but since it is a daily, I need to do something with the paint before winter gets here to keep it from getting worse than it already is.

Probably an immense amount of work to cut up a unibody Morris Minor to the point where it drags ass - which may be why I´ve never seen it done - but this would look pretty good if you if you could do it right. I´d leave the top stock height, simply because it looks so ridiculously tall!

This is bitchin, please build it.
To really go for the kill, I'd chop it 2-1/2 inches and re-shape the rear of the roof.
    Hey Rikster, any ideas?

There have been a lot of these chopped and often very successfully. Its all the rest of the mods that are a real challenge. There is realistically no way you´d get one that low without building a chassis and starting over.
