Went out and bought a roll of gasket material from NAPA and carved them out like you guys said and it worked!!!! As of right now there is no leaking and the engine sounds good and looks awesome too! I will be there tomorrow in the roadster as long as it does not rain. I love this place.

Thanks to all HAMB members for there input and help.

Special thanks to you BIG O for the awesome job on the intake. I think you may want the car back after you see it next. Stay Golden Brother!

  8. Jeffrey, I feel ya bro ! I got a 65 skylark for a dailey driver and it has a '64 300 in it. And you are right. the 64 intake gaskets are NOT the same as the 65-67. Good thing I was working in the auto parts biz myself so I knew what I was looking for! I had one SAK* tell me "300's are only Ford truck sixes" Me, I like mine and have over 80k on a quick and dirty rebuild.{rings, bearings and a gasket set} I think you should pull it out and send it to me for my next project! LOL!

as I laugh while typing this. you want to install a 322 because you think it will be easier to get parts for..... maybe a 425 nailhead. if you want easy, get a sbc.

glad to see you got it running for the show. now make sure you take a lap on the track, will make everything worth the trip...
