wow. that is crazy. Bigger usually isn't better but the HAMB is the exception to that rule. Ryan, thanks for staying true.

It looks like my original login name is number 3062 but I forgot that password. By the time I made another login I became 18433. That's quite a boom in membership in that two year span of '04 to '06.

However, I think it's how much a member has contributed than how low a number they are that's important.

I agree with that statement. If you don't post, you don't contribute, and it's the contributions by the members that make this site strong and desirable.<!-- / message -->

Wouldn't it be cool to search members that have been active only in the past week/month/day?

I am 45069, so thats 20,000 since I joined last year.

Join the Alliance! And post your knowledge. If some fartknocker wants to turn it into a "new guy" fun thread consider yourself honored. Everyone here knows something that is of value to someone, but what makes this place the best is the fun of give and take. It reminds me of growing up being a kid around dad's friends and their hot rods, plenty of razzing to go around. It prepared me for the real world. Grow a thick skin or become an accountant and hide from all of those meanies. :p

  16. I'm an old fart and it amazes me the stuff that I learn every day on the HAMB. There is a wealth of knowledge that the guys on here are willing to share with us. About the time that you think it can't get any better along comes Ryan with another surprise. Is this great or what?

  17. I remember 5000 and then when it hit 10,000 I thought that was crazy. This place is the best (hell it saved me from billitt :D ) and the friends I've made are priceless. Oh yeah...#558 here.

Where are you guys finding out what member number you are? Rodshop

  19. Oh yeah. This is kinda like hanging out with your buddies at their house when you were a kid. The deal is we have all moved to different locations and now we do it on line. And now we have a bunch more buddies.

I'm #1113 I don't post much although I do read it everyday. Been an Alliance member for a while and even got my project by winning the HAMB Auction from FlatTopBob earlier this year.

It doesn't matter to me what number I am, glad I got turned onto this site, my old wagon might not be that "traditional" of a car but it's what I like and nobody has given me any negitive flack about building it, just lots of great help when I could use it. Thanks Ryan for getting this site started.

  30. Its great but scary at the same time to have so many members. Will there be a day when all the threads are just crazy questions from newbies who don't take the time to search throughout the HAMB for info. I joined another very popular uh site that was still in the beginning stages back in 2004 and there was only about 15,000,000 other users at the time and it was mainly college students. Now there is 248,000,000+ and it has lost its appeal and become sinister. You can figure out which site I am talking about. I love the HAMB and lurked for years (since 2002) before having a vehicle that warranted my joining the board and soon to join the alliance membership. I just hope Ryan and the others who regulate can keep the trash away from this great site for a long time to come. PROPS to Ryan and crew.
