I was always going to join the Alliance membership but my finances went from bad to stable( almost joined then) then it totally went backwards again to really bad this year. Good news that I'm finally going back to work in about 3 weeks at a new local business and when I catch up on my credit cards then I will join the Alliance.

I lurked here for two years before joining.

 

I joined right before you, cause I'm 238. I do remember lurking for several months and guys bashing newbies and talking about how big the HAMB was getting!

I thought I had joined earlier, because I remember the big change over in March 2001. Guess I was just lurking then?

 

I'm 343 and used to be "coolpt." I remember signing up and someone asking for an introduction and photos of my "ride." I proudly posted up shots of my PT Cruiser with wide whites and screw on Moons. OUCH!!! Not the thing to do! I took the abuse and hung around and have made a shit load of great friends. I would have never gotten "IZZY" on the road without the help and support of so many HAMBers. Ryan has created a wonder-full cyber world here but it extends far beyond. Thanks.

germ was one hell of a newby filter. i dont post alot, but i am here at least 2 times a day, every day. this sit has helped me with my shop more than any manual or how to book ever could. we are truly (and i dont use this word alot) blessed to be members of the largest and most knowledgeable traditional car club on the planet. thanks everyone.

Yea, I think that you were one of the "nice" ones? I first found this place from a link on Roadsters.com. Most forums didn't allow profanity. The HAMB had an icon that was a gif of a hand flippin' the finger. I knew I had found a new home...

 

I came with the dirt #110.Haven't posted as much since my car has been awaiting paint now for a few years and my garage has sat kinda idle. I am sure I will have more to say when I am working on her and cruising again!

I have been a little curious as to the different membership statuses below each name. I've seen everything from FNG to Alliance Member to Grenade Inspector to Senior Member........is there anywhere on the sight that talks about these statuses and how they are obtained/changed?

I'm honored to have taken a beating by the old guys after posting pictures of a project I was working on. And even then, people were chiming in saying "the HAMB is getting soft on these new guys". It must have been a slaughter before I got here. Glad I stayed.
