With the help of my good friend Jeremy James, as well as a bunch of others including BloodyKnuckles, Big O, HotDamn, and of coarse my wife Davina, I made it to Good Guys Southeast Nationals.
I got home on Saturday night and started making the Intake gaskets that I was not able to find through out the week and also painted my valve covers to give it a little something needed. By 11:00 at night friday the car was running and we had no leaks. Mission accomplished!
Saturday Morning it rained until about noon but that was ok because I had to change the oil and flush the radiator at well as clean the roadster a bit. After the rain stopped, I took a quick shower and threw on some clothes so I could head out to the show.
Once I got there the Iron Lords had set up the HAMB tent that my wife bought and hung the banner. I think I got there at approximately 1:45pm right before the 2:00pm Meet and Greet. Here are some images of Saturday.....

Alright that was pretty much the gist of Saturday. I did get to ride around the track and I have been told that I was going 100+ in the Roadster. Although going 45 mph in that thing feels like 100 so I don't know. It was a awesome experience getting out there and stomping on the throttle with no end of speed in sight and hearing the uncorked lake exhaust bounce off the walls of the speedway like in the opening scenes of Days Of Thunder.

    Onto Sunday

What I did not tell you is that after only being there Saturday for five minutes, my Roadster got picked as a Street Rodder Top Ten and Good Guys Top 100. I was not planning on going Sunday but now it was not an option. I lined up on pit row with all the big dogs and it was all very humbling. Although, I did not build this car I will show it because I can really appreciate the work that Sean Vesley put into it and would love to keep his spirit alive. I wish I had known it was such a big deal because I would have lied to wash the car a bit before going. I was in the mud the day before and the car was in driving condition.

    More pics.

And that's it, thanks again to everyone that helped me get to the show and all that made it a great weekend. It was awesome meeting some member's at the meet and greet and I look forward to doing it again. I would also like to thank my club members at The Flying Labias for their unconditional support and the Iron Lords for just being the raddest friends ever.

I get pics of the engine make over soon.

Good to meet you and the others!

I came by before I had to leave to let Bloody know the autocross ended at 4pm, but y'all were nowhere to be found! We'll have to get together again when I have more time to shoot the breeze!

Really? The Roadster that I took (featured in this thread) was Sean's personal Hot Rod that he built. This car is the second last car that Sean built (the last being on the cover of Street Rodder) and it is awesome. I am proud to show his work off (while adding a bit of my own personality to the car) and show the world just how important he was to the Hot Rodding community. I never met Sean but I have only heard the greatest compliments from those that knew him. I wish I could have met the man.

Looks like a good turn out.
But these cell phone pic's....and with people wanting to be Era correct...I see a big return of these style phones[IMG]

  10. Sean was a great guy, funny as hell, he had a great voice and could do radio which he did at times, he did all the old cartoon character's voices. He sang in a quartet and I even have a CD with oldies he and his groupe did. I have or should say, had photos of his first hot rod roadster he built in high school and then married his wife in. Let me get his site. He also gave me a lot of encouragement when I started my old mag up and introduced me to Andy Southard on the phone. WE would laugh till the tears flowed.
We had our Thursday night hang outs at his house then down at his shop when it got too big. Too many stories to tell.

I really do have the Highest respect for them 40StudeDude. Actually it's a joke, sort of a reference to me driving like a vagina (SLOW). I am the only member and we are currently not seeking any new members.

Thanks for posting the pics ... great that you got the "issues" worked out and were able to drive your roadster to the event (and around the track @ 45 or 100 mph) ... getting picked for 2 awards was just icing on the cake ... congrats!

I have only seen that sterring wheek twice in my life and I actually thing it was a factory option. Very rare from what I hear but I think you can find out more abou them in the Holy Grail of Parts thread. Try a search for it and see what comes up.

Yeah dude, it's always nice to see you and shoot the shit. Glad to see the Sedan is back up and running. Kind of shitty that they would not give you your plaque. As for hanging up my Flying Labia Boa, I just started this club a week ago! Oh and I reached 100 in my '89 Ford Probe GT back in high school but it just wasn't the same. From what I hear, Sean would have like to see his car go that fast because that's how he drove it huh?

That's a neat little roadster, love the stance.

Congrats on the pick. We got ours at Bowling Green last week and it's fun being in there with all those high dollar cars isn't it?
