    Hey guys,

    What do you think ?

Im not quite sure but he says its a montclair.

Allmost everything is there, moldings, windows, etc
    Instrumental is there complete.
Interior is horrible, upholstery and door panels are totally gone.
    Stock engine, no*******.

Rear Wheel openings were awfully cutted (cant figure out what they had in mind)

Not a trad car for a custom but I really dig 55-56 Mercs.

    Asking $1700

  6. To bad that's not a Montclair. They do make a good looking custom. Sounds like your in the game. Good luck. I miss mine.

windows, windshield, rear glass? included or must you find and buy? Could be a lot of $ for glass.

Windshield, rear quarter windows, rear glass and vent glasses are there. Side windows are flat anyway.

    It is a montclair apparently.

Yeah, I guess shaving out some chrome (not as much as in the picture) and loweres it would make a really nice custom. No need to chop one of this.

Price ain't too bad, car has potential, looks pretty solid, mostly surface problems. Yeah I would consider it.

  14. I don't know how many are down there where you are but it looks like a good deal to me and if you really like the 55-56 mercs then go for it...they make a killer custom

If it's worth $1,700 to you don't wait too long unless you can live without it.
I spotted a car and wanted it, I didn't try to bargain, another guy wanted it also he waited too long. If it's worth a $1,000 then it's also worth $1,700 how many do you see everyday.

You got a point. I'll try to get it in 3 or 4 payments if he does not accept my offer. It wont hurt my wallet that much.
Guess Im never gonna change, just started building the 34' Tudor !!!

Yeah it is, can't tell you by how much though, he just parked next to mine at a show here a little while ago - hate to think what he's going to do about glass but it does look pretty evil!

    Hey mercjoe

Yeah could be, and ebay postage must be as bad to Argentina as it is to Australia haha.

I haven't had to get much for mine (stereo, 55 overriders only) but I think the Ford Customline of the same year has alot of the same parts - maybe someone else can confirm?

Here's one of the Village Idiot's Mercs. He was trying to sell it,but don't know if he ever did...It was a little rough, but a driver! You could get some Cruiser skirts like he did...

55/56 Montlclair roofs looks like chopped if you compare em with the same years Monterey models...never measured em but looks aprox 2" difference.
I had various Montclairs of such such years, love em for the sleek rooline...
Will not buy a Monterey for that simple reason,no matter what
    cool cars indeed...
Mercjoe, looks too much work for the money to me...unless you need desperately another project
