My roadster left about 1:30 am Michigan time today for new jersey... I have a pile of cash and im out of the rod scene for a while... Ive lost interest and have some other things id like to do... Ill check in from time to time... Peace Dave
About time you got out of the rod scene. The industry and the vendors thank you!! All that plastic stuff you built came from the recycling yard on garbage day anyway. Your's was the only rod that came with labels that said "5Cent return in Michigan, NY and California." and "Do Not Leave In Direct Sunlight." Now you won't be needing your "Bob the Builder-Anyone can build a street rod in their backyard in a week" how-to picture book. I hear thieves broke in your garage and took your Yugo and left the Hot Rod behind. You're the only rod builder I know who does the initial design with an etch-a-sketch and the mock-up with Legos. BTW-you still owe me $20.00 Congrats-you still thinkin' about bikin' out west? Why not come down here and spread some of that loot around? Turkey Run's coming up...!! And send some of that jerky down, ya' cheap prick... Gimme a shout when your done counting your moolah. Better get the wife to help before you get any more ideas...
what the hell would I dio If I did not srew around with cars? Maybe the houise would be in a little better shape but I think I would got out of my mind!
well at least ya got a pocket full of cash . you can post on the harley board bout new chrome shit for da bike..................
oldcarmike- that's a quote of John Belushi from "Animal House"... Of course, so is the one you added...
He he i love these replys... To some of you ive been doing this since before you knew what a fucking hot rod was and for the rest o ya thanks i guess..... ... Oh ya the pic... Maybe later.....You could just search my nick and find the post in the classifieds.. Brian ive always wanted to come down for the turkey run but sue is gonna be ib VA and ill surely be out hunting or up holding my image by just getting drunk every night ... I hate to dissapoint my old buddy ? Ill get with ya when i find out what the hell is actually goin on this winter but as far as i know im here till at least mid january then i could get some more time off to take a run down.. Dave
You guys a re a riot... Ive done plenty of steel cars and with comments like yours maybe there is another reason im out for a while and maybe permanently. One thing I can say is when it comes to hot rods i have a pretty open mind and i can appreciate steel and glass cars when done properly. Ive never gone by the steel is real and fuck everything else theory... Experts on the subject piss me off also.... Dave
Dave you will be missed. You help me on my build and keep me thinking of how to do it the right way. Thanks for leding the way. Remember not all car guys are PRICKS Dave L
Leaving the rodding scene is like trying to walk away from crack. This stuff gets in your blood, becomes part of who you are. Enjoy your vacation, you will be back.
Yup. I "got out" of the car scene in 2003 after selling my '48 Chevy. Managed to stay away for 5 years till I snagged my Essex this spring. Hot rodding is like a disease...once it's in your blood you'll never completely shake it.
