Rod & Kustom Picnic 2008, Melbourne, Australia

Another Kick *** Rod & Kustom Picnic has come and gone. The weather gods were kind unlike last year when the heavens opened and we got washed out !!

There were a few new rides to perv at, inc two nasty g***ers...a 57 coupe and a 39 Chevy, both of which cruised all day with LOUD pipes hehe !!

We cruised up following Adriams bare metal 49 Merc, my 3W and Sam's killer 36 3W. It made its debut at this years Picnic - a beautiful, Westergard styled taildragger !!

I only went down saturday. I wasn't planning on going at all but the old man rang at 11am and said 'lets go' so he came down and we took a cruise out there. Had a great few hours catching up with people and looking at a few cars, just want you want for a saturday arvo.

as I'm typing this its 6pm and its pooring rain. But knowing the crowd,

most would have left by now.

it was also the maiden voyage with my new spark thrower. Car went really well started well and no issues. I was wondering what it would be like on the street.

Great to see the Crankster crew from west oz with some of there rides make this year.
The 36 3windo does for me,thats one Koool ride.
Last year i cought up with the owner of the 59 ranch wgn,thats real sweet lookn ride.
hope to make it next year..ksk aka von kustard....

 

More pics guys. I had to take a sickie to go one day only over the weekend. I picked yesterday because of the forecast storms for today....BAD CHOICE. Yesterday was good but today was better and as always ...I suspect heaps more cars. As Corey said though, it was nice and casual yesterday, good for catching up with people.

The wife and I ventured down to the Big Smoke today but didn't have Frank's luck and drove the last 40 min home in the rain.
Don't ya just love a Roadster with no top, no wipers and no fenders in the rain, I do, I had a ball.
Only managed to take a few pics before the battery in my camera died.
Note to self, Take spare battery and wallet next time I go to a rod run.
